“Rude and aggressive, I'll never go back”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2009

We came for July 4th weekend, but left the same day arrived. We had a large group staying in RV's and cabins. 6 paying adults + kids were playing a large boardgame on the unused ping pong table in the empty clubhouse--we were the only ones there. Angry lady came in and demanded we leave because "someone else wanted to use the table." When I apologized, she said she was owner's mother and she would go and get them if we didn't leave. We packed up, 2 teenage boys came in and played for 5 minutes and left. I asked at the front desk, she is the owners mother but the owners were out of town--they just shrugged. She could have just asked, but instead was the rudest, most aggresive person I have met in years. We used to go here at least 1x a year, I will never return. BTW, a tent site cost more than some hotels.

Stayed July 2009, traveled with family

There was lots of +s and -s at this location. I'll start with some expectations. We saw the very cute cabins on the water online and thought we'd do a small weekend unplug getaway. We didn't care much about the grounds as out plans were strictly get away and fish some. Mainly be left alone.

The good, the check in staff was friends, the grounds were clean, bathrooms were very nice each bathroom near the cabins had a shower so it was private, the pond had some huge catfish that we caught and put back, the cabins were clean and had heat and air, the cabins were newer and well maintained, the little store had many items campers might forget.

The not so great, they had several large lamp post that were on all night right near the camping areas which attracted bugs and didn't do a thing for those of us who wanted to sit by the fire as it was just too bright outside, the grounds are near a highway so you heard traffic all the time, there isn't much at the ground to do there was a small walking path around the pond and a swimming pool but it was closed there was a small game room but we didn't make it up there, they have wireless internet however it's signal at cabin #8 was really hit or miss we did as ahead of time about it and was told it worked well but really it didn't.

Overall we had a fine time, our expectations were low though. We spent most all the time in the cabin and deck area and didn't venture off but to use the restroom. If this is the type of trip you'd like this place should fit that bill. There was a small amount of kids play ground stuff, and if the pool is open the kids should have things to do. However if you like the peace and dark at night around a campfire this isn't going to be the place for you.
