“Good Mexican Food and Very Large Selection -- Good Place to Eat.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2009

New Restaurant in Burnet and with a small BAR (WOW!). At site of former Schultz's Restaurant.

First visit was somewhat mixed experience. The place was clean, if not fancy. (Fancy in Burnet would be like putting Hope Diamond necklace on a pig.) The menu is very extensive and includes both wide selection of Mexican seafood choices as well as several vegetarian selections, in addition to very large and complete traditional Mexican fare. American and Tex-Mex items are also available as is a standard children's selection.

We ate there for first time on a Sat. evening. Place was 1/2 to 2/3 full most of time we were there. Our waitress was knowledgable, efficient, and polite. We went with 5 other people, seven of us; all orders were correct, including 3 or 4 "special" requests. Our orders were quick to arrive at the table and served at correct temperatures for different dishes.

Four of our party thought the food was Excellent, two rated it as Good-Very good, and only one thought it was average. And prices were reasonable, plus portion sizes were on large size.

Now for the downside. While our waitress was excellent, I noted other patrons were not nearly so lucky. Our waitress had to practically boot the busboy in the backside to do his job a couple of times, but to her credit, she made him do his job rather than standing around with the 5 or 6 employees at back of restaurant talking and watch a football game. That type of employee behavior definately detracts from dining experience and is very unprofessional, especially when people are not being served or attended to in a proper manner. Hopefully, management will take care of the problem, and quickly. This place has excellent potential if it does.

Unlike another reviewer, my credit card was accepted, cheerfully, and with no problem.

One thing, if you are not from Burnet area or know it, download directions; the place is little bit hidden away, but sits next to very nice park and creek that runs by, nice for little after dinner walk.

Addendum: Second visit: staff was more professional thankfully and food was still EXCELLENT. Try this place.

“Best Taco in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2009

They have "the best" breakfast tacos in town. Big Hearty tacos- just about any ingredient you could want in a taco. Haven't had any lunch there, but heard it was good too. Just a drive thru- no seating!
