“Peaceful relaxation in casual atmosphere with friendly people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

We just returned from log country cove. My girlfriend and I stayed in the River Road Cabin, which was fantastic. We both work as operations directors for a large hotel, so we were looking for a peaceful getaway in which we would have space to park our boat, easy access to a ramp and of course plenty of activities to keep us busy if we wanted. This place hit the spot! We rented paddle boards, swam, used rope swing, paddle boats, horseshoes and the "bean bag toss". In addition, we took our Malibu Wakesetter and used their boat launch, which is very convenient. The cabin itself was a mile off main property, which we appreciated due to amount of kids, sorry, we aren't big fans and wanted quiet. It is one bedroom that is extremely clean and comfortable. It had a grill and kitchen was perfect. The owners live next door and are extremely welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back several times this year!!!!

Having read all of the positive reviews about this place we were excited about going there for a family reunion. Because of the size of our group (21-13 Adults and 8 kids ages 2 to 8) we choose the Texas Oak which the advertising said "sleeps 30". The home was beautiful, with very high end upgrades (granite counters, professional appliances, big game room with pool table, card table, even a sauna. But, it was clear that it was originally designed as a single family home and converted to a vacation rental. There were beds to accomodate 30 people, but some of the rooms were former offices and open areas that they stuck some beds in and called them bedrooms. They had no closets and no easy access to bathrooms. In some of the rooms, you had to cut through other bedrooms to use theirs. With 21 people we managed (inconvenient but manageable) with the bathroom situation, but I would hate to see what it would be like with 30 people. Also, they made it clear that Texas Oak was not in their main Log Country Cove property, but a couple of miles away. It was located over 10 minutes away on a totally different part of the lake from the main area so it is not part of Log Country Cove, just a rental property that they manage.

We are still planning to go back as we drove around the Log Country Cove property and it looks really beautiful. Read the other reviews and see how nice it is from those that have stayed there. Texas Oak is a beautiful place, but not for 30 people and it is definitely not part of Log Country Cove.

Room Tip: Be sure the property you rent is in the Log Country Cove property.

We were married at Log Country Cove in the Vaughn house on March 10th. We had planned to have an outdoor wedding and reception, but mother nature had other ideas. It poured for days! The Martin family, who own and operate the resort, went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was saved, and that we had a beautiful day. We had 60 people staying in the resort, and all our guests had nothing but good things to say about their accommodations. The cabins are beautiful. Rustic, but with every comfort you can think of. It's an absolutely gorgeous place, but it's really the kindness and care of the owners that makes this place stand out. If you have an opportunity to stay here, don't pass it up! We look forward to returning year after year to a place that holds such wonderful memories for us!

Over the years, I have been to Log Country Cove many times with my family, and this place nevery disappoints. The cabins are beautiful, traditional, yet with all the modern amenities. Flat screen tvs, wireless internet, surround sound, boat rentals, fishing, swimming.. whatever it is that suits you, is available right ont he property. Pay them a visit, you will be pleasently surprised!

Log Country Cove is located on the Colorado arm of Lake LBJ. It is owner managed and extremelly well cared for. From the first phone call to explore what the cabins consisted of until we left this morning the experience exceeded all expectations. The cabins are spacious well built log cabins. Ours was for 12 people to sleep and we had many more coming and going during the day with no problem. The entire three days were wonderful.

This is the second time we've rented the Avonne cabin and we've really enjoyed both stays. We have gone both times with a group of 5 families for a total of 21 (10 adults, 11 kids, ages 6 mos. to 15 years). The Avonne has 4 BR, 4 BA, 2 kitchens/dining/living areas. It can be divided into two separate units. It is on the lake and has huge deck, pool, hot tub, sauna with addtl outdoor BA, fireplace, grill, firepit, play structure, and basketball hoop. Beautiful, natural setting with miles of great hiking trails. Feels remote but only 5 minutes from shopping, banking, etc. Really great getaway!

This is my 6 or 7th time visiting this property. I discovered it by accident about 5 years ago and make it a habit of coming back each year. I've stayed in 4 different cabins. My most recent experience was The Steen. This wonderful 3-story cabin overlooks the cove. It has 2 TVs. My only complaint is the tiny stairwell, but I knew about that before I rented it out.

The staff are very friendly. The weather was bad my last trip, but other times I've gone wakeboarding/waterskiing. They a have volleyball & basketball court.

I look forward to going back!
