“Nice Clean Park, Great Trails”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This is such a clean and well kept state park. The camping spots are large and you have plenty of room without being right next to the people camping around you. There are lots of spots that are right on the water. In fact, we have been camping at this park many times, both in tents and in a camper, and we have always had a water front camp site. There are lots of good hiking trails and on mild weather days there are many runners on the trails. The trails can be rocky with easy transition inclines. There are places to climb right off the trails, or just stick to the trail for nature viewing. The lake is calm and smooth. We went kayaking with children and had a very easy time of it. When we are deciding on a camping place in Texas, this is always our first choice.

“Great park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

Camped here in our RV in January so it was not crowded. The RV sites are nice because the are not all narrow slots. Our kids loved the play grounds and the great view of the lake. We did not hike as trails were closed & it was too cold. Restrooms & shower facilities were great.

“Great Family Spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

This is one of the nicest State Parks in Texas. Nice camping spots set off from each other. Great hiking trails, a boat ramp and fishing spots. Even a 9-hole golf course. Remote and serene with lots for the kids to do. Some cool attractions nearby with Longhorn Caverns State Park just a few miles away.

“Inks Lake off season.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

Stayed 5 nights in a TT the first of December. It was cold, below freezing, the first two nights, but the days were beautiful for walking the dogs and hiking. Most nights, we were the only Travel trailer in our area to be seen except a camp host or two. There are several hikes from 1 mile to as much as 4.5 miles and all are well marked, enjoyable and interesting. The 3 billion year old rock you are walking on is such an interesting part of this area of texas. The lake is constant and full of water birds of all types. Will definitely go back especially during off season.

“Staqying at "Inks Lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

First trip to Inks lands ended in sleeping on the ground in the tent with no pillows or sleeping bag. Boy did it get cold. The second trip was with 2 young people who tried to proof they could swim across the lake and back without tiring. HA!
