This is such a clean and well kept state park. The camping spots are large and you have plenty of room without being right next to the people camping around you. There are lots of spots that are right on the water. In fact, we have been camping at this park many times, both in tents and in a camper, and we have always had a water front camp site. There are lots of good hiking trails and on mild weather days there are many runners on the trails. The trails can be rocky with easy transition inclines. There are places to climb right off the trails, or just stick to the trail for nature viewing. The lake is calm and smooth. We went kayaking with children and had a very easy time of it. When we are deciding on a camping place in Texas, this is always our first choice.
