Thought this would be a good place to eat dinner between Houston and Dallas. You usually think a place that has an almost full parking lot on a Thursday night must have good food, right?!
Right off the bat: chairs were dirty- one looked like someone had propped their muddy feet up on the chair sometime ago and then it dried like that. Menu was dirty, and silverware napkin had sauce on it.
The chips that were not soggy tasted good. It was nice that each person got their own small bowl of salsa. I liked that very much. The salsa seemed to have a chili powder taste to it that I haven't had before. It was a bit different, not bad, just different.
At our table we ordered Tacos al carbon- this by far had the best chicken, but the guacamole wasn't real- it was that bright fluorescent green kind of guacamole. The beef quesadillas seemed to be just fine. The enchiladas verdes had regular (not fajita) chicken in them which was fine, the cheese on the was good, but the verde sauce had no flavor and the beans were very mushy and tasteless. In this case the chicken also had a chili powder flavor to it.
The food was ok. I wouldn't go back. Unless I went to drink. They have half price margaritas on Thursday nights! That means you can get a small for $1.89 or a large for $2 something. I am guessing that was the reason for the packed parking lot. I didn't try the margaritas because I was driving, but maybe they were very good.
