We stay in Bowie several times a year, due to family being there. We like the newer Best Western but they have become so expensive that we decided to look for something else. We usually are there for at least 5 days, so the costs add up. We decided on this trip that we would stay at the Park's Inn. We had talked to them last year and looked at one of their remodeled rooms. On this trip we had a queen bed room. They have remodeled one wing with new furniture, carpet, bedding, curtains and new tile in the bathroom. There was a refrigerator, microwave and nice TV also. It also looked like new paint on the walls. There were a few things I would have carried on in the remodel, which they didn't, but overall it was suitable and clean. My only complaint was the old, thin bath towels. The train tracks are near and you can hear the train, but it is not continual. Otherwise, it is very quiet and you don't have the slamming doors like you do with hotels with interior hallways. There is no breakfast, like the Best Western, but for the $40 price difference you can have a great breakfast right next door at the Longhorn Restaurant for $8 or less. The owners/managers are nice and very accommodating. This motel is off Hwy. 287 on the old Business Hwy. 287 (1st exit if coming from the North). Phone # is 940-872-1111. The swimming pool was not open yet, so can not comment on it.
