“Fun for the whole family”

Arrived mid afternoon on Wed, and drove in from Hwy 46 entrance. As you make your way down into the property, you can't help so appreciate the beauty of the Texas hill country. The golf course and club house are a treat too. We checked in, and toured the property to get our bearings. My son and I enjoyed a 9-hole round before dark. The shadows cast by the hill tops surrounding the course kept us cool. The meals were excellent, especially the breakfast! Yum. The kids enjoyed the new pool each afternoon with a night swim on Friday night. We enjoyed a camp fire on Friday evening too. On Saturday morning, the 5-mile trail around the property offered an awesome trail run. Elevation change of 700 ft....whew!

For the money, a great place for an extended golf weekend. The courses were in pretty good shape and fun to play. No problems with the front desk folks or housekeeping. Everything clean, well stocked pro shop and courteous staff. Restaurant did an unannounced buffet one evening and if you did not care for the chicken, your back-up was wings or burgers in the bar. Only real criticism was the two bar tenders who just did not have a clue on how to run a bar -and based on actions probably didn't really care. Based on their attitude I really don't think these two are trainable so be patient when ordering a drink. I would definately take my clubs and return... I don't have to sit in the bar all the time.

Room Tip: Away from the pool.

About 50 of us gathered at Tapatio Springs this past weekend. The property was lovely. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was well prepared and tasty. It is close to the town of Boerne where there are some great places to shop. Golf course was in great condition.
Something to be aware of if you are having a catered dinner...it is very expensive. We were charged $44 a person for cheese enchiladas, a taco bar, rice, beans, water, ice tea, sopapillas. No chips. No guacamole, No queso. No cocktails. No bueno!

Room Tip: Every room in convenient to the restaurant, fitness center, pro shop, pool, and front desk.

My husband and I just stayed for 4 days and three nights here. The rooms, clubhouse and restaraunt & bar, fitness room were all great. Great service. We had a problem with the water lines to our room and they immediately sent a plumber up and we were efficiently moved to another room to accomodate us quickly. Very quiet at the resort. Nice beautiful grounds. Lots of ducks and deer around. Music on the patio of the Clubhouse on the weekends. Great food. The only thing that I would have liked would have been a spa for the "non-golfer" women.

My business partner and I joined a couple of our friends for a men's golf getaway at this resort. The golf courses are gorgeous. Three courses, three different levels of difficulty. The resort has been completely remodeled in the pat two years. Everything was spotlessly clean. Buildings are stone and stucco. Interiors are tile, granite. Very nice. Rooms are very spacious. Staff all went out of their way to help us. Very friendly. The weather was amazing. It stays cooler here than the surrounding areas. I don't know if it is the breeze, valley, or what. But it was early June and it felt like March in Austin. Golfed 36 holes and it was only hot from about 2-4. This resort sits in a beautiful valley surrounded by scenic hills and limestone cliff faces. This is a "best kept golf secret" in Texas.

Our son and daughter in law got married at Tapatio on Mother's Day Weekend 2013. We had rain that we needed so bad, and cleared up great for the wedding on Saturday night. The bride had a very large out of town family guests. We booked I think 70 rooms for the weekend. A couple of us stayed in rooms they call suites (over-sized rooms) so a rather large group. The rooms are nice and they were clean, the larger room allows for guests to drop by for drinks, etc. with a sitting area. Tapatio was VERY accommodating. They placed the welcome bags in all our guest rooms that were provided by the brides family, the set up for the wedding was simple, but lovely, and the reception accommodations were great. The set up was just like we were told, plenty of restrooms for our 150+ guests, the guys say golf was great (we were able to rent a golf cart as well for transporting boxes, etc. back and forth). We were very pleased with the resort, the staff, and had a great wedding weekend for our kids.

We went early for a wedding weekend. Reservations online were simple and easy! Check-in was absolutely the easiest and quickest I've encountered in 35yrs of traveling! The Restaurant and Bar are fantastic! The Regular King room was easily 3x the size of the average Marriott or La Quinta and for the equivalent rate (That is HARD TO BEAT!). The Bed and Linens were first class. The bar sink and counter were handy and easily accessed. The bath with two sinks was an unexpected surprise. Their guest toiletries were fabulous and I am trying to locate a source for them for myself! 27 hole Golf Course that was just beautiful, 360 degree view of Texas Hill Country and a staff that was friendly and helpful! Actually, I think they hire people and remove the word "NO" from their vocabulary. Our room overlooked the driving range from our 2nd floor back balcony. We were treated every evening to an amazing parade of wildlife from that balcony that included Ducks and Axis Deer. Wedding party members recounted to us sightings of Wild Turkey along the fairway edges and natural hazards which made me instantly sorry I hadn't tagged along on Saturday mornings round.
The Pool is attractive and hosted much activity during the day. The tennis courts are excellent and hosts the best practice wall I've seen EVER at a resort anywhere.

But ..... there were some things that I didn't have available. And while they are not absolute deal breakers, Potential Guests should be aware that if you desire/require a Microwave Oven and an electric mini-fridge.... They don't come with the rooms. We solved our issue by bringing an ice-chest for refrigerated medication. The front desk offered to place a min-fridge in our 2nd floor room when I inquired........ for a nominal $15. per day.

In short:
It's beautiful here!
The Food is Unbelievable!!
It's very relaxed!
Service is TOP NOTCH!
Golf-Tennis-Swimming
You are an hour away from SO MUCH FUN .... just pick a direction to explore and get in the car!

Room Tip: You need to request a DOWNSTAIRS ROOM when reserving or you will be placed on the 2nd floor of one o...
