“Super friendly staff and yummy pastries”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

Stopped by in Boerne on a Sunday where everything is kinda dead, but the Bear Moon was open. They were about to close, but still welcomed my parents and I inside. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. I'm visiting from Las Vegas, but meeting people like that make me want to stay here. The pastries are simple, but delicious. The coffee is fresh. The atmosphere is relaxing. Definitely take your Rainforest Caramel Coffee and Apple Crown Tart outside and sit at a table out front to people watch and get some sun. Great place to sit, chat and experience exceptional customer service.

“Oh, we just loved it here and we weren't even going to eat in town...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

We were not really ready for a meal and had just finished visiting a few shops in town when I spotted this unique and very cool place! Kind of has an edgy vibe, with historical tones thrown in.

Service was a bit odd-the server was awesome but the bakery clerks were not. The food does come a bit slow here and they were not busy when we arrived, though the bakery sure was and continued to be the entire time we were there. Glad we picked out our treats before being seated for eat lunch!

Decor is unique, so be sure and walk around and take a good look at everything on the walls.

I ordered the Mentalist Sandwich-turkey, provolone cheese, avacado and mayo on a sourdough bun-it was excellent, along with their awesome tomato garlic soup. Bread is served and the butter is wonderful. DH ordered a meat quiche, with Mexican Beef Soup and he thought his meal very good. We got a few samplings of baked goods to take along with us for our journey into San Antonio. Total came to about $30, but prices are fair for the area and being in a tourist town.

Place is spotless and bathrooms good. Street parking! Private lots nearby.

Highly recommend.

“Great Bakery!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Stopped by on my way cross country. Breakfast buffet is ho-hum with a senior discount. However, the bakery shines! Try their lemon pound cake and cranberry walnut pound cake. Absolutely delicious. Friendly service. I'd go back just for the bakery goods.

“"The" Boerne bakery and gathering place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Have visitied many times. This excellent bakery and eatery not only has excellent baked goods, breakfast, and service, it is the counterpart of the old "cracker barrel" gathering place of lore. This is where local politics and business is conducted by those in the know.
The owner and staff are very gracious and community oriented. Prices are reasonable.
