“Best solid Tex-Mex in the area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2011

Start with good, crisp chips and bowls of fresh tasting salsa and black bean dip - complimentary of course. Don't over-induldge - there's more goodness to come. The app of fajita chicken nachos is often a meal for me with good sized medallions of flavorful chicken breast, refried beans and white cheese on those same crisp tortilla chips - served with sour cream, red onion, guacamole and jalapeno slices. Then the entrees - spinach enchiladas, wonderfully flavored chicken chili relleno with light tasting ranchero sauce, brisket tacos - all are very good.

Fails and disappointments - sides of refried pintos and rice always go pretty untouched on my plate. I'm always amazed they can pack so much flavor into the meat portion of the meal and leave the sides totally neglected. I've eaten here numerous times and while flavor profiles remain very consistent, portion sizes can vary to a degree - on one visit, my brisket taco was completely overstuffed. I told a friend who ordered at our next visit and it arrived at more normal stuffed proportion. Service - very polite (see note below) and efficient, but for some reason, without fail, when it come time to pay out, there is always a wait. So, be prepared to exercise patience or stand and flag down your waiter for check.

Lunch menu also available.

Note - Many of the wait staff's primary language is not English, so be prepared for a potential barrier if you have questions or special requests.
