If the room could have had half the personality the lodge like lobby and exterior had. For a total price of 68.49 for a double queen room I thought we were in for a steal, but not quite. I was able to kill a spider and some sort of beetle in the bathroom before my wife could see and tell me we were staying somewhere else, but she did find another spider behind the headboard and a dead bug on the bathroom wall, so things did not go well. She was also not pleased that the base board was missing along the tub, exposing light mold.
If it were me and the guys things would have been fine, but not for the wife. There was a musty smell in the room which the candles we brought covered up, and the beds weren't the greatest. Our room was definitely outdated, but there were positives about the place.
The lodge is conveniently located just outside the entrance to the national park. A convenient stop if you decide not to drive into Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Warm showers, a small refrigerator and microwave were provided.
I probably would not stay here again, but I remember the budget minded days when our children were younger and I could see this being an acceptable place.
