“Great family atmosphere with good service & good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

After an extremely bad experience at Smokin Joes (down the street) we left there to find Carriage House. We were seated immediately with our server ready to greet us with a smile. It was such a warm inviting place which you can order from the menu or have the buffet. Grandmother, myself & one of my daughters had the buffet. Everything was hot! We asked about another type of salad dressing & they were happy to oblige! My other daughter and Papaw ordered from the menu. They even specifically made Papaw a made-to-order sandwich!

Our waiter was a handsome young man in his early 20's who was so kind and professional. He was a pleasure to visit with. He deserves recognition for his service. I really hate I forgot his name.

If you want good food, warm environment, and a professional staff - this is your place.

“Good steak at fair price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

The overall restaurant is really dated. It gives you the feeling that good times were once had here , but that day has passed. Other restaurants in the area were to busy and had more than hour wait times , so we stumbled into the Carriage House. There were only about 5 other tables occupied. The buffet looked like a bunch of canned food had been opened and served. They had a special on the ribeye so we all opted for that. The was really good! The salad bar was fresh but was also alot of canned "stuff". Overall, will probably return one day, but won't make a special trip just to eat there.

“Probably won't be back”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We used to love this place. Stopped in on our first night in town. It was Sunday night and we decided to eat here because they are famous for their Sunday buffets, especially the fried chicken. We arrived at dinner time about 6:00 and chose the buffet. They had sold out of their famous fried chicken at 3:00 p.m. Mashed potatoes on the bar were about two servings still sitting there hardening! You would expect for a Sunday night buffet meal that they would keep the bar filled with food. Why let your customers pay for the bar and then not have all the food on it? I chose the fried fish. It was pretty good. Not anything special. Salad was good. Everything else on the bar was substandard and bland. My husband had the country ham which he said was dry. It didn't look good. Their deserts sit out uncovered on a side table. They were dry and old tasting. Service was good this time, though often it isn't. Their sweet tea just isn't the standard Southern sweet tea either. We keep trying to give them another chance because they used to have wonderful food, but this will be our last time. I hope they read these reviews. They could be so much more.

“Great breakfast value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

We ordered the breakfast special, two eggs, two sausages, and two pancakes. My husband couldn't get over how huge his eggs were. The food was delivered in a jiffy with great service. And only $5.99!

“Nothing Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

Had the Sunday breakfast buffet....scrambled eggs were dry....gravy was thin....not much taste....watermelon was the only fruit and the pastries looked to be out of a hostess box. The only meat was sausage links. Not much variety for a Sunday brrakfast buffet. We did eat supper there the night before...we had a BLT and it was good....made on their homemade bread.
