Visitors center opens at 9. By the time you ride half the loop starting at 7 it should be open. Be sure to roam around the mill and cabin, especially the mill. The cabin is neat to roam through. There is always someone there that runs the mill and grinds cornmeal and flour to be sold in the visitors center. He can tell you about running the mill and the history of it. In the fall they have someone making sorghum with a mule going around in a circle squeezing the liquid out of cane and then they boil it down. Sometimes a blacksmith is there giving a demonstration on making tools that the settlers used. These events are usually in the Fall. Take a break and enjoy the peace and quite! Visit the small center, it has honey, sorghum, flour, and cornmeal made in the valley. Lots of neat stuff to look at. We stop there always and soak up the atmosphere! There are restrooms available. When we ride the loop, we always wait till the center opens up and peruse through it.
