“Really good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

We tried out the Lil Cuban Cafe in Townsend this weekend and it was really good. We split the appetizer (Ham croquettes?) the sandwich (not the Cuban, the 2nd one on the menu), and the dessert (WOW). No way we could have finished it all if we hadn't split it. Service was great, Tina was a delight and offered great suggestions. Will be back to try the Cuban sandwich and that dessert again. Can't remember the name but it had fried Cuban bread, apples, English walnuts, caramel, and powdered sugar!!!!! And, the coupon for Norris Art Gallery was awesome. May have found some Christmas presents.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

They have a place to set outside that looks inviting. It was cold so we sat inside. We had a our dog in the car and waitress gave us a doggie treat. This is a great place to stop in. The food is wonderful as was the service. We will definetly be back.

“One of Townsend's Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We are in Townsend almost every day and visit local eateries to see what is going on and to get to know people. We love Eddie and everyone down at the Lil Cuban Cafe. Since we don't eat pork, our selections from the menu are limited but the beef and chicken and rice/beans are awesome. Everything is consistently good and the atmosphere is such that instead of thinking you are at a restaurant, you feel like you are visiting friends for dinner. We go there very often, sometimes just to visit the crew down there. You will not be disappointed with your visit to this establishment.

“Best value meal and tasty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Excellent value in a true Cuban taste. Try it on your way to the smoky Mountains National Park. Plentiful meals come ready to take leftovers home!

“The food trumped the "dribble cup"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

The Cuban sandwich was so big we ended up saving the leftover halves from our table and driving them 800 miles in an ice chest. Reheated them and they were just as fantastic as they were the first time. Eddie the owner, and Tina, the server were both very friendly and worked hard to make customers happy. I was surprised that they used cheap styrofoam boxes, plastic cutlery, and very thin, cheap plastic cups for their dine-in customers. It would be so much better if they used even the cheapest plastic plates. It's really scary trying to eat piping hot food straight out of the fryer before it melts the styrofoam. And for the second time in one week they had a drink cup malfunction--wish I'd seen the previous Tripadvisor review from someone else who had a drink cup malfunction. My cup split down the side, spewing cola on me from chest to shoes and sending my family scampering to fetch napkins to mop up. Eddie brought us a free dessert to make up for the soaking and said he would be changing to a more durable drink cup as soon as he finished using up the bad ones. So....if you're eating here anytime soon, be sure you ask Tina to double up on your drink cup and don't hold it near you!

Just wanted to thank you for writing us your review and for your valuable input which we appreciate very much! Once again, please let me apologize for your mishap with the defective plastic cups which failed both of us during your recent visit. We are happy to report that we were able to replaced our inventory of defective cups the day after your visit with us. Although we are sorry for the inconvenience, we are at least thankful for your understanding, and for taking the time to care by bringing this very important matter to our attention. from all of us here at the cafe thank you for allowing us to serve you, and we look forward to your next visit!
