A real delight to visit here and stay on Townsend side of Smoky Mts. This is older establishment that has had some rennovations and additions, the room we chose was the cheaper straight eight" room all we needed was a bed to sleep in and bathroom. as we did not spend much time in it. Very quaint and clean, hardwood floor and old tile in bathroom shower. it was clean and Great for us! The bed was high old fashioned style and linens were comfortable and clean. the greatest thing is the POOL. it is heated and very nice. we swam after dark and after a rainstorm. we had the whole pool to ourselves and it was just very nice! there is a grocery store close about 1mile or so down the road to get snacks, beer, etc. we ate pizza at Pizza hut next to grocery IGA store. Warning, all things are closed up by 10pm, so purchase what you want before that time. It really is very quiet and relaxing, you will enjoy that Cades Cove is so close by and an easy drive to it the following morning! Just a nice place to relax, swim and rest a bit. no shopping or hub bub here. Recommended that you call the talley Ho directly to make reservation rather than on-line, as they can provide you with same discounts and as owners, it is more profitable for them in this manner. You will not be disappointed if you like quiet, however if you want more selection and night life, this is not the place for you.

Quaint, comfortable rooms. Retains feel of original Smokies lodge it was, but has been completely renovated. Sparkling clean and MUCH more charming than a chain hotel! Lovely pool and view of mountains too.

My husband and I spent two days in the Smoky Mountain National Park primarily in Cade's Cove. When we drove through Gatlinburg I was shocked at how crowded and commercial it had become since the last time I was there years ago. We wanted a nice quiet simple place to spend one night and found it in Townsend at the TaLley Ho Inn. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small with a small shower but was all we needed for that night and best of all it was away from the crowds.

Room Tip: W asked for the a east expensive room, there are larger rooms that may have larger baths if that'...

I returned for a 3-day stay at Talley Ho. It was very nice, certainly comfortable, very clean, and the people were friendly and helpful.

Best feature hardly mentioned in reviews? The showers. I stayed in one of 'the original' rooms (#132). Just as my previous room (#124) the water is old school: strong volume and instantly hot. This has got to be the best shower in the Smokies. I'd forgotten how nice it was to have a high-volume shower. You've got to experience it.

Also nice that return visitors receive a discount (if you call for reservations; not via web).

There is considerable variation from room to room. Ours were up the hill had excellent views from a balcony. It was probably more recently built was roomy and in very good condition. Inspect first. Do not expect luxury and you should be well satisfied. HJ

By far the best accomodations In Townsend. Will be going there In Dec.It Is the closest hotel to road leading to Cades Cove. Had deer and sighted a bear from back door. Walt to restaurants from hotel. They have their own restaurant on site but when I go It has been closed. Great rates and super clean rooms.
