“The Lodge at Cherohala Skyway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014 via mobile

The lodge us just two blocks from the entrance to the Cherohala Skyway and caters to bikers and families. You park your bikes indoors. Bike wash and rags are setup. The modern log cabins have wood floors, are huge, clean, with flat screen tv, free wifi, jacuzzi tub and walk in showers. They gave a great game room with pool, ping pong, shuffle board, air hockey, foosball, darts, checkers, and a fully equipped workout area. The grounds have a creek, fish, fire pit, gift shop. Great continental breakfast with forests fruits, juices, coffees, cereals, bagels, and Danish. The proprietors made you feel welcome. We had 5 bikers and rented two of the 16 cabins. The Lodge us the best place to stay.

we switched to this place at the last min. and boy are we glad we did. they had indoor parking for our bikes with towels . the cabin type rooms were awesome and spacious. we sat on the porch every morning and night , also the pavilion with fire pit was a lot of fun, we met some great folks from Va. and enjoyed talking about different rides we should take. the pictures of the place on their website does not do them justice it is very pretty place well landscaped and laid out. we were all impressed with their game room ...thinking it would just be some kiddie games etc. but NO it was very nice with full size pool table, Ping-Pong, air hockey, and shuffle board. card table.etc. we ended up spending an hour in there before we started our daily ride. we will stay here again as it is a pretty good base for riding the cheroholla and the dragon.

Room Tip: lower cabin will be quieter for road noise

I stayed in Tellico Plains years ago when planning to ride the Skyway and the Dragon. It was a nice cabin, but the sulfurous well water left you smelling all day. Took another chance and found this place, and I don't regret it. Walt and his wife are gracious hosts and the rooms are nice, spacious, warm and comfortable. We had no reservation, and called in from Ellijay, GA to see if they had rooms. They had no problem with a late arriver.

I would recommend this lodge to anyone!

We've stayed her a few times before. Always a wonderful place to kick back after riding the Cherohala. Read earlier reviews and I must say, if the TV is too small, you need to have your eyes checked! They are just right. Continental breakfast was just right. Not just juice and pastries, there's yogurt and fruit and cereal, too. Proprietors are sooo nice. Get your Tellico, Cherahola, and Dragon t shirts there, plus other lovely area arts. They even carry supplies for your fishing and hiking, too. Looking forward to our next trip. Oh, and if you need lunch or early supper while there, try Cats Deli down by the riverside. Open til 6

I was a little skeptical when I saw the pictures. Wow was I surprised! The place was great! The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean and very comfortably furnished. The staff treats you like you are a returning family member. My husband and I stayed here on a weekend motorcycle trip. We had left our phone charger at home so we asked if they had a spare. The hotel owner pulled out a box and let us look thru it to find a charger for our phone. They provided us with information about where to have dinner, where to shop and what to sight see. Continental breakfast was free and it was delicious...fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, assorted breakfast breads, cereal and coffee all were fresh and yummy. We are already planning a return visit with friends. Very close to the Cherohala Parkway.

Room Tip: We were in building 4. It faces the valley. We sat in the rocking chairs outside our room and watch...

It's a long story, but I'll make it short. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Lodge at Tellico to anyone - we had a great experience there and plan to return again and again. Very nice rooms, great food, but more importantly, incredible service.

My son and I were at the start of a cross-country motorcycle trip and ran into some problems the first day, right after we left the lodge. We had to return to the lodge, where they checked us back in and let us use their garage to work on our bikes. We were ready to roll the next morning...and in my excitement, I didn't check the room to make sure we had packed all of our items.

A day later, we get a call from the lodge, letting us know they found a knife/money clip (with $ 300 in it!) along with a small flashlight, and asking where could they send it. Amazing - how many lodging facilities would have staff with the integrity to not put the $ 300 in their pocket and not say a thing about it? I was very impressed. Hope you get a chance to stay at the Lodge at Tellico as well.

Room Tip: We tried two of them - both were excellent.

We were delighted with our stay. Rooms were spacious and super clean! Loved sitting on the rockers on the front porch enjoying a few cocktails and a warm summer evening. The hosts were very nice and served up a great breakfast which was included in out rate. We also booked a room that allowed us to park the motorcycle in the garage, where Walt even provided cloths so we could shine up the bike again for the next day. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was surely pleased, and would not hesitate to recommend this place!
