“Great location in this beautiful park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Fall Creek Falls Inn is a basic inn with a restaurant, lobby with wifi, seasonal pool and Jacuzzi and is situated right on Fall Creek Falls Lake offering wonderful views from your balcony.
The furniture and carpet are very outdated, but, I didn't come for furniture, so it was easy to disregard. Room was large and had a loveseat that could be converted into a sofabed. Balcony had two chairs and a modest table. I think a small family would have had plenty of room here.
Hiking trails were fabulous and although there were jon boats for use, I stayed on land and enjoyed the falls and the hiking. There is a white map that's a bit confusing, but another map (green, I think) was clearer and easier to follow. When in doubt, ask questions. Joan at the front desk is efficient, knowledgeable and a pleasure. Thank you so much.

Room Tip: I was given room 304 which was an ADA approved room. This gave it a bit more room I think. Choose a...

This is a very remote and beautiful park, but as a camper, I left disappointed. I stayed in Campground Loop D which is better suited for RVs than tents, which was fine for my needs. We travel in a Class C without a towed car. Riding bikes on the park roads is not advisable due to speed of local traffic and smaller roadways, and biking I'm our particular loop was limited (unlike Loop B). Also the grounds were poorly maintained... It must have been a month or longer than any grass or weed cutting had taken place. Wish I had driven in a car and stayed in a lakeside cabin - those look great!

My fellow and I love this park. The hiking is simply great. Great. Spring for the extra hiking map when you check in. It's worth it, hands down. We went with the mother-in-law, and the fancy map did a great job of listing the trail distances and providing descriptions.

We stayed in the landslide cabins, which were well located. The folks who work at this park, however, are the reason I wanted to write this review. Two years ago my man left a guitar on the front porch of a cabin. I called after we checked out, and they put the guitar in the lost and found. TWO YEARS later, we stayed at the park again. Not only was the guitar still in the lost and found, it still had his name on it. That level of honesty and employee responsibility, alone, is worth writing a review.

We'll go back, and hike more. After two visits, we have days and days left to hike.

The rooms all have beautiful lake front balconies. Which is a good thing, because the rooms themselves are dated. We love the park itself, the hikes and the views are breathtaking. Food at the buffet is reasonably priced comfort food. Salad bar was surprisingly fresh.
All in all, an okay room in a wonderful setting.

The waterfalls and creeks are spectacular. The sites, resetvation system and facilities are great. The directional signs and maps they provide are horrible! But that is the only problem with the park. Would recommend this to everyone.

This is a beautiful state park with plenty to do. Rooms were as expected after reading other reviews. We had the Sunday Special which included the room and 2 breakfasts. The buffet had numerous choices and it was all good. We had the lower level room and there was a dehumidifier which I had to empty then we ran it all night. Everything was clean and every employee we encountered during our stay was very friendly and helpful.

If you go into your visit knowing what to expect at this inn, then you won't be disappointed. It is a state run facility and it is definitely outdated (concrete cinder block walls, 70s style baby blue tile in bathrooms, etc). Some reviews have complained about the "institutional" feeling. If you are expecting something along the lines of a Hilton or Marriott, then you will be very disappointed with this property. However, it is perfectly located to explore all the beauty of the Fall Creek Falls park. The staff at this facility were incredibly nice and helpful, and the rooms were clean. They gave us a room near the pool, which the kids loved.

The main downside for us was the food selection. There is a restaurant onsite and it has a buffet. We ate lunch and dinner there. The food was good, but it was too similar each time. If you stay several days, I can see where you would get tired of the food and want more variety. We were only there 1 day/night...we loved lunch there, but by dinnertime we were wishing for more food choices. They had a lot of country-cooking food choices which were good, but I did find myself wishing they had some healthier options as well.

Overall though, we were satisfied with our stay here.
