“Nice quick trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

We decided at the last minute to go here, when we wanted to take our Greyhound for a hike on which she had never been. I was able to book the last pet-friendly room they had and after an hour and one half drive from Chattanooga we were at the hotel. As soon as we settled in we walked from the hotel on a trail to Fall Creek Falls, a very impressive waterfall. From the time we arrived at the park until we left it was snowing (which was cool (pun intended)). Actually there appeared to be an accumulation of approximately 2 to 3 inches.

Our experience was great. The hotel staff was friendly and the room was clean and large enough (and had a balcony overlooking the lake). The food and the service in the restaurant was good (we had the buffet). Overall a very affordable great trip.

We stayed at the Fall Creek Falls State Park Inn over Valentines Day weekend. The hotel was perfectly fine, especially for the price and convenience to the park and trails. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is built right up against the lake, and apparently all the rooms are lake view. I imagine you could go fishing right out off your deck it is so close.

We ate at the Inn's restaurant for dinner on Saturday and breakfast the next day. The buffet was good, nothing really amazing or really gross. Vegetarians - don't expect many options. They do offer a boxed lunch that includes sandwiches, fruit, chips, and a brownie for those planning to picnic on their hike. These are very handy. Ask for one at breakfast.

Several waterfalls, nice well maintained trails lots of deer. Staff was friendly and informative. Spend the day and enjoy it all. Make sure you take the scenic drive from the falls parking lot if your not a big hiker. If you like to hike this is also the trailhead for a fes mederate trails.

We stopped at the park for an afternoon visit during a holiday road trip. My husband and I had stayed here before many years ago when we lived in Tennessee and were happy to enjoy it this time with our son. The inn is very basic but most people are here to be outside - that's the whole point. We enjoyed walking the trails and had a really nice time. It really is a very beautiful park. Before we got back on the road, we had lunch at the inn's restaurant. It is a good buffet with a fantastic view. No, we did not like everything that was offered, but there were plenty of choices and a decent carving station. We were pleased with our lunch and happy with our decision to stop here.

First of all, the setting is wonderful...mountains, waterfalls, lake, fall color. But will never go back for an overnight stay again. My husband and I had spend a week in Gatlinberg and then planned a 3 night stay at FCF. When we checked in, the woman was not friendly at all. She gave us the spiel of finding our place, the restaurant and so on but it was like she had said it 200 times before that day. We rented a 3 bedroom house on the lake because it had a woodburning fireplace. First of all, the parking was far from the house. The house itself is old and smelled musty. Thank goodness we had plenty of firewood because the wood shed was far away. Don't know how we would have gotten more into the house without making lots of trips. Plus the firewood was cut so short, it was hard to build the fire. The good thing was the view from our deck, right over the water was very nice. This was probably the best thing about the place. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The furniture was old and dirty. We enjoyed exploring the park and waterfalls, seeing lots of wildlife, etc. But we will do it as a day trip from now on. The house is priced way more than it is worth!

I stayed in the fisherman's cabin Oct 5-7, 2012. For the price, you are thinking what a deal! It is a deal being that you can fish from the deck! When when it was raining, we were outside on the deck fishing. The kids really enjoy themselves. Now to the inside of the cabin. It hadn't had a good cleaning in a while. Even though it was old, doesn't have anything to do with the way it look. There were holes in the wall in the bedrooms. We killed lot of spiders! What bothers me, is the fact that all this cabin needs is a little mopping, dusting, and the everyday things with cleaning. Will I go back? Yes because the fishing was great and the falls are beautiful! But cleaning was an issue!

We traveled with 5 young boys, are dog & camper to Fall Creek Falls after hearing rave reviews. This was our 9th State Park we've stayed at. Pros: Beautiful scenery, nice camp store, lots to do. Now, the cons...The camping spots are tiny & packed together. There are few "full hook up" spots which left us trying to flush sparingly. Our campsite was fully of bugs & mosquitos. If you're staying at the campground, be prepared to drive anywhere to hike or play on the playground. While the rocks & sights were gorgeous, they weren't ideal for a family with young children. I slipped & fell, and our 4 yr old nearly drowned! This is not your typical state park. It was busy, loud & overcrowded. Our kids brought their bikes, but the roads were narrow & cars came racing through our campsite. My suggestion? Skip this one, unless you have older kids. We ended up eating our 3 day reservation & leaving after the first night. Not our relaxing trip we had hoped for!
