“A little bit of heaven in an area surrounded by slop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

How refreshing to actually eat food that doesn't consist of "meat and two sides" Service was good and the small menu was wonderful. It was fun to shop the antiques while waiting.

“Love makes everything better at Miss Marenda's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2014

Love is what you see when you walk into this unique lunch eatery. It's part cozy restaurant and part antique store. While you eat some very high quality, home-made lunches you're surrounded by decorations that you can actually purchase. Then as you look closer you notice the detail given to the placement of those antique items, down to choice of color combinations. You quickly realize somebody cared, a lot. You wonder if the food will contain the same love, and it definitely does. I had Miss Marenda's Club Sandwich which came with a pasta salad that was a minor meal in itself. I was delighted and price was very reasonable! Located across from the county courthouse in Sparta's old city square, it's a staple for the locals and an absolute "find" for anyone else.

“Charming Tea Room Resturant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

We LOVE this little place. A MUST if you are going to or passing through Sparta. The tea room is a part of a 2 floor antique store. Everything is for sale even the table, chairs fixtures even in the restroom. My husband found a picture in the men's room and bought it. The locals have said the prices are a bit high we didn't feel that way. The only complaint is the iced tea on the second trip there seemed to be soured but it was promptly replaces and all was fine. Best home cooking and desserts.
