Thought it was just another burger chain but decided to try it when I was in a hurry and really in the mood for a killer burger (not typical for me).
Well...YUM! It was like chowing down on a big fat goopy HOMEMADE burger: fresh--never frozen--meat, hand formed, lightly packed, tender, juicy, not too greasy but not too dry, well-seasoned, loaded with fixins (or not, to taste). I found out there's a reason they serve it with a knife and fork (I had the 1/2 pounder, and onion rings).
It's a LOCAL chain (greater Nashville), and this Smyrna location is now owner-operated. It shows in the quality. They have an article up that says the chain is owned by a Nashville family that used to run a Persian restaurant. Clearly they love to feed people good food and know how to do it. I think this Smyrna location is now the 'flagship' store where they introduce new recipes. Lucky me!
They also have Gyros, and chicken, turkey, veggie burgers, and a few vegan things. Also, their signs say they make their own feta and hummus. Can't wait to try all those! It's in the same shops with my Publix market (Exit 70 off Rt 24), so I'll definitely go again and again now that I know how good it is. I'm now sorry that I passed it by all those times!
The only reason for 4 stars/dots instead of 5 is that it is, after all, a burger joint--albeit a VERY good one. And... I wish they'd offer a few more Mediterranean specialties. Rare as hens teeth in these parts, and I'd sure welcome them.
