“Favorite place in the smokies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

We stay here everytime we come to the smoky mountains. We love the hotel and the location. It's out of the congested area but still easy to get to all the attractions. Great views from the front balconies too. Will be back in the fall.

I'm staying here through a timeshare promo for pennies on the dollar 3 days/4nights. At first I couldn't find the place because its located up on hill and no signs at end of road. Got here and the ladies at the front were very helpful. Came to room always check before unpack, the knobs on the ac wouldn't work lady came and fixed, No more problems there.

Pros:
Quite
Divided rooms
Plenty of parking
Big bathroom, water flow good
Rooms seem to be clean

Cons:
Needs upgrades, TV's, tiles on ceiling
New mattress
Some way to cool the other side of divided room
Longer pool hours, people out and about all day come in late and want to get in pool but closes at 10pm

Overall a good place to stay better than lot here in TN.

Room Tip: Ask for balcony room looking at mountains not parking lot. Check the room before you unload clothes...

We are so pleased that you found your stay economically priced. We chose the site of this hotel for many reasons such as it is located "off the beaten path" but within walking distance to attractions, shops, and restaurants. It provides easy access to many area attractions without using the main road systems. The trolley is nearby which allows one to travel across town to more attractions, shops and restaurants. Hopefully, these reasons made your stay very pleasurable. We are pleased that as soon as a problem with the A/C was reported that we were able to fix it. Looking forward to your nest visit.

This is my second time staying at Governor's Inn, and I have enjoyed it each time. The rooms are nice, and I appreciate the layout. It was nice to have a balcony upgrade. The staff was nice and friendly, especially the front desk clerk named Tonique. She was cheerful, friendly, and very charming. The location was great, very convenient. I was a little disappointed that the pool was not open at 11:00pm, as the brochures indicated. Because I was looking forward to a quick dip in it before bedtime, but that was not to be. Other than that, I was very pleased with my stay. F

Got there, sheets was dirty, had water in floor, got up next morning to find bedbug in our bed. Horrible experience. To make it worse, the maid service came to clean the room as we was leaving for the next person to sleep in the bug infested room. We had notified management of the bugs, they even captured one. Have photos of the bug, bed stains from the blood. Will never stay there again and suggest unless they do major updates and get the place cleaned no one else stays there. Yuck!

This is my 2nd visit to this hotel. Jennifer at the front desk was especially helpful in making my reservation over the phone. She provided excellent customer service :-) thank you so much! I will be back.

The Location was amazing with easy access to a back road to Dollywood. The hotel itself was not too old and kept very clean. It could do with a little updating here and there but nothing that would keep me from coming back. The gym was an unexpected little extra. But it was the staff that really stood out. Tonique checked us in & as well as out & was incredibly helpful and friendly during our whole stay. We're pretty familiar with the area but she recommended restaurants we'd never heard of & got us past all the traffic which was worse than we've ever seen it. Every staff member we passed greeted us with a genuine smile. Also breakfast was larger than a usual continental breakfast but I'd have loved some bacon or sausage to go with the biscuits & gravy. That's my only tip for them!

Room Tip: Join the rewards program! It's free & they own a lot more than just hotels in the area. It c...

We have been staying at the Governor's Inn for several years! We keep going back because of the special attention given to us at breakfast by the host Bonnie! She is a great graceful lady! Truly amazing! We also received wonderful hospitality from Cierra and Jennifer! We look forward to many visits in the future!
