Howdy all: Usually I just stay at a motel and make my comments known only to the staff and management, especially when they are not complimentary. This is NOT the case. The Southwood Inn in Selmer, Tenn., is a nice mom-pop type of motel. My non-smoking room had a king sized bed...comfy enough. A small fridge, but one large enough to hold my beer, soft drinks water and meal that I warmed up on the microwave. Shower was hot and plentyful. Towels are a little worn, but if that is a bother, bring your own. Same with the complimentary shampoo. But if you need more, just tell them at the front desk and you get more. Wakeup call was on time and I got a free USA Today to read with my bisquit and sausage gravy. This was first rate, stick to your bones, and kept me going till I had a chance for lunch. Their complimentary breakfast also had several types of cereal, fresh fruit, juice, hot coffee and danish/bear claws and such. Finally they had a first rate-and fast wireless internet set up. I stayed for five days and four nights and used the internet each and every day without any problems. None of the other motels have the internet setup. So...while it is not the Ritz, it is a nice, friendly, comfortable facility that allows you to bring your own drinks and food so as to "crash" in comfort. Will I stay there again...you bet....
Regards, from Jackson, Miss.
