“Great place for the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2011

Just returned from a Great Stay. Although the weather didn't cooperate, the day of fishing we had was well worth the trip. Great owners and staff. Their dock person, Al, was a great help. The breakfast was not that big, but the biscutes and gravey topped it. Lodge facility was also roomy and well furnished. Beds were somwhat small for a extra tall person. Boat and motor provided was always ready when we were ready to go out. Reelfoot Lake was also a great place to fish. Crappies were getting ready to bed and were plentyful and large.

We will return again next Spring.

Room Tip: Book well in advance

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2009

Took a late summer fishing/lake trip with a friend. We stayed here because of location and affordability. We purchased a fishing package (off season) for a double occupancy room with a boat rental. The rates are incredible. Check their website and see. We got what we paid for, plus great hospitality. An employee there gave us some tips that paid off pretty well and offered up his plastic worm box for us to use, telling us which colors were producing. Another plus for us is that they weren't crowded. Only one other room was booked.

The owners are very friendly and had breakfast when we said we'd be up to eat it. Biscuits, gravy with sausage bits, cereal and juice, plus some banana nut bread one day and sweet rolls another day. And coffee, too. A fine starter meal. Other than that, it was a no-frills experience, but no-frills is a GOOD thing. Restaurants are down the road. The sitting room is nice, the windows are big, etc., but we didn't spend much time there.

At any rate, if you want a great trip to Reelfoot, it's hard to go wrong with Acorn Point Lodge. I'll be back. Another quick note is that the location is fairly convenient if you want to fish the holes around Buck Basin and the deep water in the Lower Basin.

We searched and stayed at other motels at Reelfoot Lake before we found this gem. It's like coming home. Rooms are large, very CLEAN, several beds per room, TV, quiet, boat rentals, bait, guides if ya need 'em, bbq grill , FRIENDLY owners. They cook biscuits and gravy in the morning, coffee, juice, cereal and its' FREE! Big community room with huge windows facing the lake for board games, conversation, sunset/lake viewing. They make banana bread in the evenings! We won't stay anywhere else again.
