“Great lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

We went to Amis Mill Eatery for lunch and were able to sit on the porch where we could see the dam. The food was good and reasonably price. It was a long drive to get there but the drive. The drive was thru some beautiful country which made it very enjoyable.

“Long winding road, not worth the trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

First, let me give kudos to the wait staff, they were awesome. Now for the food, I ordered "cajun seasoned fried crawfish". I couldn't taste ANY cajun seasoning on the crawfish, the fries were coated with something and they give you hushpuppies. A plate piled high with fried food and very little flavor. My family member ordered the salmon and she said she will probably never eat salmon again and spent the evening eating antacids. Nice view next to a stream with a waterfall but that's it.

“Nice location and scenery, food ok, service was mediocre, at best....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2014

We live about 45 minutes away and this was our first trip to Amis Mill. May be last.... not 100% sure yet. We arrived at 7:30 pm and were seated at around 8:30. Very understandable for a Saturday night... no problem.

After being seated we ordered and waited... and waited.... and waited! Finally some bread was brought to our table... it was good. I really think the rolls are Sister Shubert brand and not home made though. Next our salads were brought. Had to flag our server down for utensils. Drinks were not refilled for a while.

We ordered a flat iron steak with fries, a flat iron steak with baked potato, a kids fettuccine and a kids chicken tenders with fries.

Everything tasted great but my husbands baked potato was never delivered! Waiter kept telling us it would be a few more minutes and it never happened. He told us baked potatoes were being cooked as fast as possible. But, we saw other meals coming out with their potato before and after we didn't get ours.

So, not super impressed with service there. Meal was around $55.00 after baked potato was deducted. Probably won't be back because of service. Everything else was just OK.

“Worth the Drive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

First, let me say that Amis Mill Eatery is worth the drive! Overall, everyone in my party had terrific food for a fair price. The service was exceptional, too.

Everyone who tried the fried okra raved about it. The fried green tomatoes were almost equally praised. The onion rings, however, were too ordinary. Breading them instead of trying a beer batter may help. The Cajun offerings seemed to be the most popular and got the best reactions. Thursdays are fish days. My fish was just a bit overcooked, but I ate it all and would eat it again! The wild rice was filling, but one member said it reminded her of Uncle Ben's. One other picky complaint: they charge 25 cents for a glass of water.

Dessert for all of us was the vanilla cheesecake. NO COMPLAINTS!

We want to go back to try the prime rib and the chicken.

Plan an outing. You won't regret it!
