What an amazing fantastic place to camp. It was so clean and beautiful. The golf course was awesome and a great thing to have when the wife and kids sleep till noon. I had an early tee time every morning. The little village was great. The falls were so much fun. We took our bikes and rode them everywhere. If you hear laughter on your bike ride find a path. We walked down several paths and found locals at great swimming holes that weren't packed with locals. The playground in the middle of the campground was an excellent kid magnet. The kids would bang on the volleyball pole and kids would come running for a game. We camp alot and this is by far the kids favorite stop.

On the way to somewhere else, we had visited this park a couple of times in the past. This was our first time to stay in the park's hotel. It was a great experience. All of the staff we encountered were both friendly & helpful. The room was clean & spacious with a great view of the lake. I felt the only room improvement needed would be the addition of a small microwave & refrigerator. The park is full of activity with large campgrounds, boat/canoe rentals, stables & golf. This is to say nothing of the natural beauty with its waterfalls, hikes & roadways.

Room Tip: Book well in advance. Except for the off season in the winter you will probably not be able to &quo...

The camping sites are normal and can get congested. However for a short term camping site you cant beat it for the money. The trails are great and the views are great so in short if you like state park camping your trip will be great

We enjoyed a 3 bedroom cabin. It had a nice view of the lake out of the sliding glass doors. It was quiet and peaceful. We noticed that the carpet needed to be replaced and the floor felt cold. We were told that it would be renovated this fall. It was a great place to relax with our family. Where the cabins are located in the park there is no cell services or WIFI. If you want to get away from it all this would be a great place to go.

I have stayed at FCF before in both the Inn rooms and the fishing cabins. My family is from the area and I was doing some research. It's a long drive from Pikeville (20 miles of tight mountain roads) and longer from Dunlop (longer but a gentler grade and turns); however, it was worth it to have the nice porch overlooking the lake and to be able to grill each night. The fishing cabins are "rustic." Plenty of room and the kitchens are well stocked, although they lack much counter-top space. Walls may have dents or holes, the wood stove is a bit rusty, and towel racks may be made of a board with hooks in it. Be aware that the stairs to the second floor (where the two bedrooms are) are very steep and may not be suitable for small children or anyone who is not sure-footed. The cabins are not modern but it is a state park, not a Hilton. Plenty of towels were provided, including kitchen towels. My only complaint is that the bugs, including yellow-jacket wasps, seem to be able to find a way in. It was just two adults and we were very careful not to leave doors open, but the bugs still found a way in. Fortunately, the cabins are stocked with fly-swatters which worked well on the flies, wasps, and spiders. The weekdays were very quiet and relaxing. Be aware that on the weekends the families with kids arrive so, if you are looking for relaxation, you may want to pick a weekday during the school year.

Room Tip: Both bedrooms are upstairs and the steps from the first floor are very steep. If you have small chil...

My boyfriend and I arrived at Fall Creek Falls State Park with the intention to camp but it was raining and we had driven quite a long way. We decided to get a hotel room for a good nights sleep. We found the room to be adequate, outdated, but clean.

The Lakeside Villas are very dated and poorly stocked. t $155 per night in the off season it's not worth it. In the summer you have to rent for an entire week. No paper towels and very few utensils that were new. There was no cutting board to prepare my salad. The park is absolutely beautiful to visit. The Inn has a restaurant and the buffet was pretty good but only had 2 wait staff to serve all the people in the Inn, Villas and cabins who came to eat.

Room Tip: I can't talk about the Inn just the Villas. Wait till they have renovated. AT $155 per night in...
