This place was gross, the beds felt wet, words cant explain how nasty this place was and it was scary, i wanted to go home it ruined the rest of our trip i couldnt sleep because this place was so gross so we were going to leave before the night was over and just let them keep the money thats how bad this place was. there was a cooler floating in the pool. i counted 12 bobbie pens in the floor where someone had pooled them out of their hair and the floor hadnt been cleaned, the fridge was nasty and barely cold, to nasty to use.

Room Tip: Dont go here!!!!!!!!!!!

They should not include the word "family" in their name because it's not fit for a family on vacation. The staff was unfriendly and the room was dirty. The property would be more valuable if the hotel was gone. Do not waste your money.

This is the nastiest falling down, disrepair of a dump. Absolutely do not disregaurd the reviews. However bad the reviews make this dump, it's 100 times worse. The doors don't close let alone lock. There were dead bugs all around the toilet, in the tub and the sink. Floor and rug were nasty with debris. Only had towels for 2 people. Had to call for maintaince and housekeeping. Later when we returned to our room the door still gave us problems getting in and once we were in the door would not close let alone lock. Called for maintanance again because we couldn't leave the room open. Forty five minutes later we walked all the way to the office and said we needed to change rooms. Both rooms we were in looked like the doors had been broken in at one time. I noticed a couple of rooms had been boarded up and some were even broken. I'll NEVER stay at a Family Inns of America hotel ever again. The website said it included a complimentary breakfast. Not so. You have to drive a mile or more down the road to another hotel and pay $2.00 a piece for pancakes and eggs. Totally disgusted with this nasty dump.
Save your money. Sleep in your car....We were also put in a room on the 3rd floor way in the back by an access road (not handicapped) . We were told there was an elevator outside. Haha

Room Tip: Both rooms we were given were nasty.

This motel is not as bad as everyone says it is! It is much better than some other accomodations I've seen in my life. Our family stayed in Room #104 and it is nice. The beds are comfortable and made with smooth cedar logs. The walls are a cherry color and as soon as you walk into the room, you feel like you are in a rustic cabin in the mountains. There is a TV with lots of channels, micro-fridge, and plenty of closet space. The desk staff is very helpful and courteous.

The location of this motel is really good. It doesn't take five seconds to get to Dixie Stampede (you could literally throw a stone and hit the building!) There is a trolley stop right out front and the motel is within walking distance to all kinds of restaurants and shops.

Seriously, do not believe all of the reviews you read on here. On a scale of 1-10, we rate this place a 7! There is a good chance we will return!

We've been staying in the Smokies for more than 30 years and have never had rooms anywhere near this bad. The floors were black, the rooms smelled like an ashtray and I found dried crusty blood (not a stain) on the underside of the bedspread. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
