“It was ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

After reading the reviews online I was really skeptical, but when we arrived we were pleasently surprised the room was clean and the beds were fairly comfortable. Our room was in a quiet area for which Im thankful, because some of the rooms were steps away from the pool and it is a noisy area. Our toilet leaked one day and they fixed it promptly. Our room stayed cool the window unit ac was fine. The worst thing that happened was one day after a shopping trip (several hours) we returned to find that housekeeping had left our door open not wide open but none the less open and we had our laptop in there we are not sure how long it was open nothing was missing.
There were a few bugs I believe the crack under the door allowed for easy entry for them. No roaches just crickets and flies. The hotel is in a great location if you like the nightlife.

You get what you pay for. The pictures are misleading. The picture perspective would have you believe that the pool area was huge as well as the breakfast area. Boy were we surprised. Didn't even waste my time trying to go to breakfast. The mattresses were like sleeping on bales of hay. I'm afraid to think what was under there. The property has not been maintained very well. The rooms were reasonably clean, but very old and dated. The noise level between rooms is very bad. There were some unruly guests next door and we could hear everything. This place is not a good place for a typical family with children. Based on the clientele, I wouldn't leave valuables (i.e. laptop computers) in the car and took them with us when we were away from the room.

The Econolodge at Riverside (on the right coming into Pigeon Forge) looked excellent. They were posting a gold award on the marquee. Pulled in there thinking this was the place. Nope. Couldn't be that lucky. This was the one we "thought" we were booking.

Spring for the extra $30 or $40 a night and stay somewhere else. You will thank me for it. I can highly recommend the Music Road Inn or the Music Road Hotel. Not too overly priced. Excellent breakfast, rooms and pool facilities. Just off the beaten path enough to enjoy the quite, but still very close to shopping and restaurants.

Arrived in Pigeon Forge and checked into our hotel.... the one we had reservations for Valley View! Stayed half the night and had to check out, literally! Found rooms availabe here and they were extremely clean, nice and friendly staff. We had no problems with this hotel and they actually serve a wonderful breakfast! We had three rooms on the first level consecutive together. Pool was clean, waterslide was nice. And they actually bring clean towels asap with no wait! We are going back in a month or two and will be reserving rooms here!

We were pleasantly surprised - the room was small but very clean. I wish we'd known we were getting a window unit but it kept the room cool enough. I was not happy to see a tiny little roach crawling along the sheets at one point while reading in bed - usually one tiny one means there are more nearby, but as the place has a pool...which was very full, by the way. Bed was hard but for $55 a night, I got more than I expected.

I rented two rooms for a four-day family trip. The staff was courteous and helpful, our rooms adjoined on the single floor side of the hotel. The kids enjoyed the pool and slide, it is small, and when the hotel got crowded it quickly got full. The rooms and beds were small but clean; however, we reported a strong sewer smell in the bathroom, they checked on it, but it didn't help. We left the door closed and the vent fan running in there all weekend. The parking spaces are small and narrow, and when the hotel sold out on Saturday night we found our spaces in front of our rooms taken when we got back from supper. Not much you can do about it, but I like to be able to keep an eye on my car from the room. The "continental breakfast" was Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee. The location is convenient to restaurants, shows, and attractions on the parkway, and wasn't hard to get in or out of. We just wanted a decent place to sleep, as we were out pretty much the whole day with activities, and it was that. It was surprisingly quiet for being on the parkway, the only noises I heard were from the pool (we were pretty close to it) and the occasional loud car stereo when a guest came in to the parking lot. It's not fancy, but the price was reasonable (averaged $70 per night for a weekend at the end of July, which if you've been to this area, is pretty good,) Like most other hotels in this area, the rate changed for each day we stayed, but as I said, it averaged out pretty reasonably. We've stayed a lot of places in the area, it wasn't too bad, and I'd stay there again if I needed to.
