“Pleasant Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Very nice motel. Little disappointed in size of slide, and size of pool and lazy river, talked up to much, but grandsons enjoyed it some, they liked the indoor pool better, Outside pool talked up to big. Rooms were very clean, and very comfortable beds, Breakfast was very good, and a lot of items to pick from. Good variety. Would stay there again, but a little pricey...No dishtowels or dishes of any kind in family suite.

The hotel was clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was delicious with enough variety for the whole family while there a week. Breakfast on the patio with the birds and squirrels was a great start to each day. Pools were clean and fun for all ages. Location is close to everything. The family suites are great if staying a long time, just don't forget dishtowels. The only thing I would change about this hotel is to implement recycling. (Breakfast served on styrofoam). Great place to stay!

We stayed at the Sister Hotel to this one (Music Road Hotel, and they own both), which is located across the street, and if you are a guest at either one, you can freely use the facility of either, and we did use the facility at this Hotel. They both are designed very much the same, but this one is the only one that has the exercise room (small), but also this one has a smaller arcade room.

The Hotel has a nice indoor pool with a hot tub, and a very nice little water park outside, with a lazy river and tubes, and a small curl water slide for having fun, and they have plenty of Towels at the Pool for Guests. The outdoor pool has a snack bar as well. My kids wished the slides were a bit bigger with the curls than they were, but it was okay.

The Hotel gives a free complimentary breakfast in both every morning (6am-10am), they have some scrambled eggs, and bacon, and fruit, and a bit of small pastry/bagels, yogurt, coffee, and a lot of people seemed to go to the free breakfast, but although I liked the Hotel, I did not care for the taste of the free breakfast.

The Hotel has a view of the Little Pigeon River on one side, and depending on where your Room is you will have this as your room view, or the Cemetary in view. A Cemetary is practically located on this property.

This Hotel (both of them) are very conveniently located within walking distance to many places to eat, even a huge buffet place, and Ruby Tuesdays Restaurant is on the same block, at the corner of the Hotel. The Hotel is also within walking distance to a few attractions as well, and the Trolley stops right in front of the Hotel, and goes all over to all the attractions. You can also take a short drive to Sevierville, TN, and Gatlingburg, TN is only a 15 min. drive through some of the Smokey Mountain. Cherokee, NC (which belongs to the Cherokee American Indian) is about 1 hours drive through the Smokey Mountain (Route 441, a main road), where you can see many scenic views and be up 5,000 feet, spectacular views you will certainly see. Be sure if you do go into the Smokey Mountains that you are with a full tank of gas, as there are no gas stations, nor restaurants in this Park, and it is best to travel in the day time hours, and stay on the main road, unless you are very familiar with this great National Park, because you can get lost there for sure, if you wonder without knowing where you are going, but it is absolutely breath takingly beautiful.

In any event, the Music Road Inn, is a nice, clean and great location to get to all the things you would want to see in the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and surrounding area of attractions. We had a Family Suite, across the street at the other one they own, but both seem very similar. If you need a Family Suite, they don't have them in this Hotel, you would need to book across the street (Music Road Hotel). There is no Valet Service for anything (parking or bags), all are self-serve, they have luggage carts and two elevators.

Although, it is not necessary, but it would be even much nicer if the Hotel did have an actual Restaurant, in order to be capable of ordering from right there or eat right there at the Hotel. The Free Breakfast area would be a lovely spot to have a real Restaurant. The design of the Hotel, I think could handle such renovations, which would make it gain more "stars" as being even better than it is.

We enjoyed using the facilities at this Hotel, which was across the street from where we stayed, at the Music Road HOTEL. I hope your not confused, because they own both, one is the Music Road HOTEL and the other is the Music Road INN, both are directly across the street from each other. We did not stay in the Rooms of this particular Hotel, we only used the facility, and so I can't review for you how the rooms looked inside, nor the service here, but I have taken some photos so be sure to see them.

Room Tip: I would assume that you would want a view that is not facing the Cemetary, which is certainly practi...

We stayed at this Hotel for our July 2013, family Summer vacation, in Pigeon Forge, TN. The Hotel Staff was very friendly and eager to please all guests. The Hotel is in good condition and very clean, and the Housekeeping Staff is very accommodating in coming to clean your room at a time that works out best for you, if you let them know in advance. Although Housekeeping is not on the premises 24 hours, they work up until 6:00pm everyday, but after hours the Hotel has the Maintenance Crew take over any special needs that are left over from Housekeeping. The Hotel was very generous on giving out plenty of Towels to the guest, as many as you need and at any time of the day, which was terrific for us, due to all the swimming and showering we had to do.

The Bathroom was excellent with having two sinks, and a nice linen closet with a few big shelves for storing your own personal things.

The Hotel gives a free complimentary breakfast every morning (6am-10am), they have some scrambled eggs, and bacon, and fruit, and a bit of small pastry/bagels, yogurt, coffee, and a lot of people seemed to go to the free breakfast, but although I liked the Hotel, I did not care for the taste of the free breakfast. It was nice that the rooms have microwaves and mini refrigerators in their Family Suites, and we were able to buy some groceries nearby (Walmart) and make our own breakfast each day, and it was terrific. You do get a Coffee Maker and complimentary Coffee in your Room. There are ice and beverage vending machines on each floor by the elevators. The Hotel also has two floors that have self-service Laundry (one washer & one dryer), and no detergent vending machines, and no folding table in the Room, but a bench for sitting is provided.

The Hotel has a Sister Hotel directly across the Street, and you can use the facilities in either if you are a guest of either (pools, arcade room, small exercise room is only in the Music Road Inn). Both Hotels have lovely little sitting areas in the Lobby, with a very small gift shop, and both the Hotels are very clean, even the stairwell is very clean, and I took a picture of the stairwell because it was unusually spotless. There is plenty of Parking, and you can park at either Hotel (Music Road Hotel or Music Road Inn). The Music Road Hotel does have a connecting Convention Center as well, but we did not go there. The Hotel has a view of the Little Pigeon River on one side, and depending on where your Room is you will have this as your room view. We stayed in Room 327 (Music Road Hotel), and our view was the Little Pigeon River on one side view, and the other was of the town, we wished we were up higher to see the Mountains. The other Hotel (Music Road Inn, across the street) does have a Cemetary in view, and I would assume that a guest may have that as a view in that particular Hotel, we were in the other one across the Street. The higher the floor your on, the better the view.

In any event, the Music Road Hotel, is a nice, clean and great location to get to all the things you would want to see in the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and surrounding area of attractions. We had a Family Suite, and it was spacious and comfortable and had a very very nice long and private patio, with lots of chairs to sit out. The beds were comfortable, but the pull out sleeper sofa mattress is then and you can feel the wires. We bought (at Walmart) a full size foam mattress cover, for about $10.00, for the sleeper sofa, and that made it very comfortable. We controlled our own Air Conditioning as well. There are no safes in the rooms and none were noted about being offered in the Hotel. There was no Valet Service for anything (parking or bags), all are self-serve, they have luggage carts and two elevators.

Although, it is not necessary, but it would be even much nicer if the Hotel did have an actual Restaurant, in order to be capable of ordering from right there or eat right there at the Hotel. We did enjoy our stay with the Music Road Hotel and would stay there again, and we also enjoyed using the facilities at their Sister Hotel across the street, at the Music Road INN. I took some photos so be sure to see them.

Positives: huge pool with diving board and slide. Nice lazy river. 24 hours indoor pool. The staff- all of them are amazing helpful and friendly. Very clean spacious rooms. Breakfast the cinnamon rolls were a hit. Our fridge in room did not work at first I think it was only 15 minutes and we had a new one. Quiet hotel at night.
Negatives- if you have a first floor room you don't have a river view you have a view of smokers sitting outside your patio. I know as a former smoker they need somewhere to go but they shouldn't be able to smoke right outside lower level door. This is where they congregate after breakfast 8-15 at a time gets stinky. Air conditioner was loud at night if set to cool under 72.

Family stayed here for two nights. Staff was very friendly and the pool area was great.

Two issues- The room smelled a bit musty and the air conditioner was very loud when trying to sleep.
Great hotel though for families with younger children.

Dear Linda M,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. It is wonderful to hear that we were able to serve your family well during their visit to Pigeon Forge. The water park is certainly great fun for everyone! We apologize for the slight issues with your room. We wish we could have been given the opportunity to prepare a new room for you that would have been more than satisfactory. We hope that you will choose to stay with us again soon on another adventure to the Smokies!

Yours in hospitality,
Management

My family and I loved this hotel, the pool area was nice and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was great along with more than enough food. The front desk was very helpful with answering questions about all the local things to do in pigeon forge.
