“Very good stay minus a few mechanical issues.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

This hotel is located in the center of Pigeon Forge and is one block off the Parkway so, it is quiet. We had a riverview king room for a great web special price. The hotel and room were very clean!! Our room was very spacious. The fireplace did not work in our room however, it was July and the hair dryer also had to be replaced. The breakfast area is a little small for the volume of people and they do not offer the USA Today as complimentary.

Room Tip: Riverview was worth it. Higher floors have better views.

Dear StephWV,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We are glad that you enjoyed your quiet space beside the Little Pigeon River. During the Summer, the temperatures sometimes do not fall below the mid 70s at night. Very rarely do guests desire a hot fireplace lit in their rooms with the temperature that high so we have them turned off. But, we are always happy to satisfy our guests in every way we can. We hope that you will choose to stay with us again soon!

Yours in hospitality,

We really enjoyed our stay at the Music Road Hotel in July. Our room was very clean, nothing broken and very spacious. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The pools were clean and easily accessible. The only complaint that I would have is there is not enough shade in the outdoor pool area. Towels are available in both indoor and outdoor pool areas. we enjoyed he lazy river and the grandkids loved the big pool and slide.

The hotel offers breakfast in the morning from 6am to 10am each day. There was a good assortment of hot and cold foods to choose from along with a nice selection of teas, coffees and juice. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Room Tip: There were four of us, 2 grandparents and 2 granddaughters and we stayed in the 2 queen-size bed roo...

Dear aruba116,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review! We also thank you for your kind words. We certainly hope that you choose us as your home in the mountains! The Summer brings out a lot of sun and we appreciate your suggestion to address that at the water park. We hope to serve you and your family again soon!

The overall experience of staying here was quite disheartening, considering we had meticulously looked for a place in pigeon forge to spend a weekend relaxing with a nice waterpark/pool area for our baby and toddler. Based on the pictures and reviews from various sites it looked like a great place & a fairly good value with the "waterpark" and free buffet breakfast everyday. For anyone interested in staying here, be aware that the pictures and descriptions of this hotel are very misleading.

Upon arriving, my husband and I quickly noticed that the front desk people need to be trained a little bit more in friendliness. While they were professional, it was one of those things where everything they said or did was simply going through the motions. Not once when I went to the front desk did they greet me, but they always just looked up waiting for me to state what I needed or wanted so they could get on to the next person. ( It was not crowded at all, so that wasn't the issue) I feel this is rude, considering we are paying a lot of money to stay there.

The room we stayed in was a premier king waterpark view room with Jacuzzi. On the positive side, the room was large and the in room Jacuzzi was very nice. The bathroom with a separate dressing area was nice as well, and there was a lot of space to store extra items you brought with you. On the negative side, the furniture and décor was pretty dated, and they only had feather pillows which were not comfortable to sleep on. I feel they should at least offer you the choice of regular or feather pillows. Oh and the free Wi-Fi, don't count on it. It took me an hour to order a pizza online due to the sucky internet, so wouldn't recommend this place if you need internet access.

The most disappointing items for this stay, was the so-called waterpark and buffet breakfast. First of all, the fact that they can even get away with calling their pool area a waterpark is such a joke. They had one large pool with one slide, a small lazy river, a 1 foot kids pool area with a mushroom sprinkler, and an indoor "heated" pool and Jacuzzi. This all sounds great, but in reality it definitely needed updating, wasn't that clean, and the indoor "heated" pool was freezing. Like I said before, the pictures are very misleading.

As for the breakfast, I thoroughly enjoyed eating frozen biscuits, canned gravy, powder eggs, microwaveable bacon, and store bought pastries. They also had your typical breakfast items such as cereal, fruit, yogurt, and juices. Sorry but when they said it was going to be a buffet breakfast this was not what I envisioned. Again, it wouldn't have been that bad, if they hadn't advertised it like it was something high, mighty, and wonderful.

All in all, a disappointing stay and I am pretty sure we will not stay here again. You live and you learn I guess.

Dear Rcdc4,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It is disheartening to hear that your stay in Pigeon Forge was not a pleasant one as our guest's speak so highly of our property.

We are happy to hear that your Superior King room fully met your needs, but we must point out that the solid wood furniture was hand-made just last year. We pride ourselves on providing southern hospitality but we are so sorry if a staff member did not make you feel right at home. We also offer much more than just an indoor pool, but also a 50 ft slide, a diving board, mushroom fountain, lazy river with tubes, and a cabana for snacks. Most of our guests would consider that variety a water park and not just a pool. It also seems that you have gotten the wrong impression of our hot breakfast in the morning because the scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, and cinnamon rolls are all freshly prepared daily which consistently receives wonderful comments. We really hope that you will reconsider and that we might have another opportunity to serve you and your family again soon.

Sincerely,

This hotel was just as everyone had described. It was very clean, everyone was very friendly, and the location could not be beat. It is right on the river so every morning we got to have our breakfast on the back deck with the birds and squirrels overlooking the river. Their sausage gravy is delicious too. My kids enjoyed the lazy river and the pool area. The pool could use a little work though - the vinyl liner is coming up in several places. The water slide and general pool area was clean and pleasant. The beds were comfortable and the rooms seemed oversized compared to a normal hotel room so it was nice to have the extra room.

Dear Rhonda C,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It is wonderful to hear that your stay with us was everything you hoped it would be. We have not yet named the squirrels you saw at breakfast, but if your children have any ideas, we would love to hear them! We hope to serve you and your family again soon!

Well, the check-in process went great. However, after arriving to our room on the 7th floor, my family and I immediately noticed that the balcony door was not clean. We have been there for 3 days now and housekeeping has still not attempted to even clean it. This morning I was looking for an item I lost and I lifted one of the mattresses up and noticed that there was a pecan under the mattress that looked like it had been there for weeks. In addition, we didn't care for the breakfast too much. The powder eggs were watery, the bacon was a little overcooked, and there was not much of a variety to choose from besides the usual cereal, oatmeal and dry muffins. This was definitely not my first choice of hotel to stay in and will be my last. Overall, it was an average hotel with housekeeping and breakfast issues.

Dear Jai1712,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. It brings us sincere disappointment to hear that we did not fully meet your expectations. Our housekeeping service at Music Road Hotel achieve an unheard of 100% health score consistently. Also, our guests are usually very satisfied with the breakfast variety of over 20 items ranging from fresh fruit to delicious biscuits and gravy. We wish we would have been given the opportunity to fix the issues that you had while you were here. Our customer service staff would have worked above and beyond to make sure your stay was nothing short of outstanding. We hope that you give us a chance to serve you all again soon.

Check in very slow. One person working desk. But great room. LOTS more space than expected. Had Premium King. Slept 4. 2 in King, 1 sleeper sofa, one on air mattress. PLENTY of room for extra air mattress. 2 SINKS, jacuzzi and fireplace. Would suggest requesting high floor, river view room. Breakfast average. Stayed 2 nights. Probably would not have eaten breakfast another day. Overall very clean, but a few LARGE hair balls floating in pool by end of day. Gross. Took one out and it was still on side of pool next day. Even still, kids loved it and it was FAR cleaner and overall nicer than other places in PF that I have stayed for same price. Would definately go again.

Room Tip: Would request river view. Other side was ok (pool/mountain), but river was really nice.

This was our first trip to Pigeon Forge and try to stay at a kid friendly hotel. It was located in a good location. The people at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. We stayed there four nights and other than the parking it was a great stay. There was something going on at the conference center so it was hard to find parking that was close to the hotel. The pool was great! We have a 6 year old and with a lazy river, big slide, and big pool she wanted to stay in the water the whole time. We would definitely stay there again.
