“Getting addicted to this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

On our last vacation we found ourselves eating at this Cafe 3 times! So many long lines at the other restaurants, found us driving around searching for dinner before closing. The Pottery House Cafe and Grille never disappointed us and has such a variety. Food is fresh tasting and always great! Love the atmosphere and staff is friendly and helpful! Love the Jazz background music.

“Best quality food for the price in the area with a quaint atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

We love this restaurant! We ate there 3 times because it was so good! Lots to choose from on the menu, the fried pickles were amazing! You have a bit of a wait to be seated depending on what time you go, but that is the only complaint. Really cool atmosphere with pottery around and it looks like a cottage country home inside. Service is good and quick. Also has a cute little outdoor area to wait with a small pond. When we had to wait a long time we walked to the neat shops next door to kill time and had fun. This restaurant is worth the wait, especially if you are tired of endless chains and hype restaurants in the area and want something more relaxing and unique.

“Absolutely wonderful!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

My friend and I ate here and loved it! She had a pimento cheese sandwich made with their homemade bread (which we split) and tomato soup. I had fried green tomatoes (done the fancy way) and we split those. We purchased chocolate pecan pie to go and had that for breakfast the next day...it's vacation time, you can do that!!!
Everything we ate was delicious!!! Our server was lovely! The place was busy but we were served in a short time.
I'll definitely come back with my family!!! Highly recommend!!!

“My Recommendation, Pass on the Prime Rib”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

My daughter and wife love this place. It is one of their favorites. The ambiance is really nice except for the back room where we always get seated... LOL

I asked about the prime rib and our server told me it was the best she ever had. I know prime rib is hard to cook and it is rare when I find prime rib worth eating at a restaurant. The prime rib at the Pottery House was average. A bit overcooked and a bit dry. My wife loved her steak sandwich and my daughter like her chicken tenders dinner. I just don't think this is the place for prime rib, so a warning is in order.

“Best in the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

This area has a large number of chain restaurants, a few so-so pancake houses, and some iconic favorites like the Old Mill and the Apple Valley restaurants - but this amazing place is better than anything else in the area. It is just across the street from the Old Mill. It is bright and pleasant and has a staff that seem happy to work there because they know they are serving very good meals (lunch daily 11-4, dinner 4-close). There is also a bakery - which means exceptional bread with your meals. Offerings include exceptional sandwiches (such as the fried green tomato BLT), quiche, fresh fruit, and awesome dinner options including steaks, chops, fish, shrimp, chicken, barbecue, and a variety of dinner salads. Home made soups are great (and the French onion is very good), and a salad comes with dinners - with a choice of 10 dressings including their outstanding avocado ranch. Beer and wine are available, and there are beautiful desserts from the bakery. Not surprisingly, this place gets very busy at prime meal times - but if you have to wait - it's worth it!
