My mother and I spent one night there. The hotel was smoke free, but as soon as I opened the door you could smell cigarettes. I opened the door leading to the balcony to air the room out. We heard a loud noise which I thought was just someone running water above us. We didnt pay much attention to it. We left the room to go shopping and eat dinner. When we came back we noticed the noise again I opened the door and it was the ice maker in the hall. Later that night my mom went to sleep and she takes a sleep aid to help her rest because she has joint problems. I was wide awake at 130 am and finally I called the front desk and told the clerk about the Ice machine he offered to give us another room but my mother was sound asleep. The next morning he gave me the ceo of the CEO of the hotels number. I called him and told him I wanted my money back but all he would give me was 14 dollars. I was awake all night and the room smelled of cigarettes. We left and went to the Valley Forge Inn where we usually stay and it was nice and even cheaper than the pigeron river inn. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Room Tip: Dont stay in room 317

We stayed at the Pigeon River Inn on a disasterous trip to attend a presentation for The Lodges. The hotel is just a basic, no frills hotel. (No newspaper at the door, soap and toiletries lower end, breakfast very sparse, furniture very basic, but they did have free internet, ironing board and iron, and hair dryer), however, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The hotel was clean, the employees were very friendly, and courteous. We had a balcony room overlooking the Little Pigeon River and enjoyed watching the ducks, and just the quiet beauty of the river. We are smokers and they seemed to go overboard on the "no smoking policy" with telling us to keep the door closed to the room while smoking on the balcony or it would be a $300.00 fine. However, after seeing the numerous burn marks on the furniture, I can see why they instituted the rules. For the price, the hotel is a very good value. It's a shame they are associated with this Lodges scam. I agree with the other reviewers on here - DO NOT GO TO THE LODGES PRESENTATION. IT"S A SCAM!! After receiving an invitation in the mail, we put $50.00 on our credit card to attend this, and unfortunately, we had already given The Lodges our credit card info, before reading the reviews on here, so we thought we would give it a try. We drove 5 hours to attend, after we got to the "presentation" they had a questionaire to fill out, asking personal questions (how much do we make?) which I had already answered to be qualified to even attend. We were taken in a back room, told we would not qualify if we didn't answer the question, taken to another room and some big guy came out and screaming at us, telling us to get off his property or he was going to call the police. I'm going to write a letter to the Attorney General of Tennessee and complain because this is blantant fraud. Also plan to report them to the Better Business Bureau. I plan to call Carnival Cruise Lines because their brochure was in the initial info, promising a cruise as a "gift." Since we use Carnival for cruises, I think they need to know what type of people are using their name. People drive for hours to this scam and these people are nothing but thugs. Can't believe they haven't been shut down.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony overlooking the river. The pool was closed, so don't know about the cleanliness...

This is a very good place to sleep. For a couple of dollars more than the regular charge you can get a nice clean room with two queen beds, flat screen TV,refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, WiFi, etc..with a balcony over the little Pigeon River. the extra charge is for the balcony over the river, and well worth it. Nice decor, cream, burgundy, and green. Comfortable beds with fitted sheets and 3 pillows on each bed .New looking carpets, 2 chairs and a table, and oudoor pool. One of the things I liked the most about it is they dont allow animals or smoking in any of the rooms. What I liked the least was the breakfast. packaged waffles, cereal, juices , toast, and coffee. The people that ran it were very friendly and curteous.

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor and had a beautiful view from the window of the river.

We loved it here so much in May that we came back for my Birthday week. We had the family suite. This suite is a good 3X bigger than a regular hotel room for the same price. We had a view from the balcony to the Pigeon River, straight down to the pool, the Parkway where we could watch all the old cars go by, (The car show was in town). Jay the Manager is very attentive, as are Tracy and Harry, the front desk attendants. They always had a smile and were full of information on the best places to see, shows to watch and restaurants to eat at. The hotel was clean and the breakfast fresh and plentiful, they even had waffles! Housekeeping did not disturb us at all and yet were very friendly and refreshed our supplies as needed. We will be back again as time allows in the next few months.^^^ P.S.^^^ You must go down to the Three Bears General Store on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge between traffic light # 4 & 5 on the left headed towards Gatlinburg when you first get into town. Besides it being an amazing gift shop, go between 3pm and 9pm and ask for Greg when you first walk in the door. I promise you he will hook you up with all kinds of big $$$$ savings deals to take advantage of during your trip and he also has the best prices in town to save you money on all the shows, plays, attractions, etc... I can say that during our week here we saved over $200.00 on things that we planned to do anyway!!!!

Room Tip: Choose the family suite for a more roomy stay, chose the jacuzzi room for a more intimate stay.

It was clean and friendley
If you are going on a timeshare trip beware we spent 3 hours there and we did not get our 50.00 cahs refund as promised they gave us tickets for shows. cancel your credit card so they can't charge you for the room and dont go on the timshare presentation. Very high pressured.

We stopped to stay at this hotel with one of the coupons for $34 a night. It was on a Monday and the lot was empty. We were told there were none of those rooms open. The outside sign was flashing $39.99, so we asked for one of those rooms. None open. I asked how much a room was, and the Indian fellow said $49.99 for 1 person no balcony, but alas there was none open, but if we wanted we could get a room for $59.99 a night with a balcony. We left. We did not make it past the lobby, but there was a very odd smell at this hotel to go along with the rude desk clerk, and the false advertising. Go there if you want, but don't fall for the promise of a cheap stay.

If you are used to staying at a 2 star hotel then you'll love this hotel. But if you like class and updated hotels this is not the place for you. Don't mention anything to them about the cleanliness of their hotel becasue they take it personally. They even told us that they haven't replaced the bedding in over 3 years, no wonder our backs hurt after the 1st night. We moved to another hotel and once we were checking out by OUR choice you would have thought we had been outside picketing their location causing problems. The owner acted like we were crazy and that we had a problem and nothing was ever wrong with his hotel. They need a few classes on customer service and how to treat people. Once they knew we were unhappy we became their enemies!!!! What ever you do IF you do stay here go check out the room first!!! before you give them a credit card because they will have you charged before you get back.

We are by no means upper class but this place well it's short of any class and they spend more time on the outside cleaning than the inside...that would be great if we were sleeping in the parking lot.....Just be cautious....Sorry for any mis-spelled words :)

Room Tip: If your going through one of the timeshare companies DEMAND a 4 star location because the price IS t...
