We had to leave at intermissiom because my 2 year old niece was having
a bad case of the terribles and we all traveled together in one car and were way out of walking distance back to our chalet or my daughter and I would have stayed. The 2nd half of the show with the audience participation is probably the best part of the show.
The show started with the dog tricks, which we all loved and was the only portion of the show the 2 year old actually stayed still and watched. Kudos to Comedy Barn for using rescue dogs in their show. Next was granny and some very silly fart/bathroom humor, I was not impressed with this portion of the show but all the kids around us were practically rolling in the floor laughing. Slim Chance was next and he put on a very good show as did the ventroloquist who followed him. There were also singing and tap dancing in between sets by some very talented dancers and singers who put on a good show.
The first half was a little over an hour long, then they take a 20 minute intermission and finish.
Tickets prices are adults 24.95 plus tax and my niece got in free. I'm not sure about the cut off age for free admission for children.
Cons: they grab you and take a photo as soon as they take your ticket.
They do this so they can make and sell keychains with your photo on one side and $2.00 off admission to the CB on the other.
They spend a segment of each act tooting their own horns about what good clean fun they have and how wonderful they are for providing clean comedy. Every show I've ever been to of this type has been a family show so I'm not sure why they feel the need to drive that point on and on and on and on. They also spend a good amount of time promoting their keychains, tshirts, lobby gifts, and dvd recordings of the show. It would be ok if they only mentioned these things once and moved on or finished the show with it. It's not like I'm going to forget within 2 hours about the lovely plastic key chains they forced us to pose for or the lovely dvd version of the show I've just seen or the fact that they broke their arms patting themselves on the back about what a wonderful good clean fun family show they put on.
All in all, the comedy barn is an entertaining (CLEAN!!) show and I would probably go again without a fiesty toddler.
