“Girls weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

The bathrooms were really small, hard to shut the door, but the rooms were decent. They have a nice breakfast with waffles, scramble eggs and sausage gravy...Waffles were really good, eggs were cold and a friend had the sausage gravy and said it was not very good...overall it was still a nice place to stay with a good location.

I've now stayed at this hotel about four times in the last five years. Most of the time booking a medium sized group in with me.

The location is great. Minutes to Dollywood and Gatlinburg by car or trolley (with convenient trolley stops at the hotel) and walking distance to a ton of fast and fast casual food options. Also walking distance to a million go kart/laser tag/mini golf places. By Trolley or Car, 10-15 minutes to the northern area of Sevierville with the big outlet, Nascar Park, etc.

The hotel itself is actually a motel with exterior doors and older style AC units. Rooms are clean and well kept though from our experience. Pool area is nice with a smaller splash area for kids as well. I agree with others that the breakfast area is too small, but they do a nice job and have some warm food options and always seem to get the job done. You may just want to either go at a non-peak time, or be prepared to bring the food back to your room.

Never had issues with traffic noise or anything like that.

Friendly staff, great location, more than decent rooms...we'll keep coming back for sure.

This hotel was a great place to stay for a night before a six mile hike up Mt Leconte. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room was on the second floor and faced the parkway, it was quiet enough to drown out most of the traffic noise. The A/C worked great, it was quiet, you barely noticed it cycling on and off, which is uncommon. The room appearance was drab, and it had a hint of cigarette smell, that was the only negative aspect. The breakfast was very good, more than enough to choose from, coffee was above average in quality, a great way to start your day.

Our room was large, with 2 queen beds. The mattress and pillows were comfy...loved the comforter. This room had a very large sink & vanity which was outside of the bathroom. Loved that. Keeps the steam from the shower from messing up my hair. Here comes the problem...the bathroom. It was tiny. You could not open the door, if you were sitting on the toilet... Seriously! It did have a curved shower rod, which I love, and the towels were good. The other thing that bothers me is the heat/ac. It cycles on and off, which is noisy in itself, but also allows outside noise to filter in. The TV was great, with lots of channels. Breakfast was good...waffles, biscuits, and gravy, etc.. Loved the location...within walking distance to good restaurants. We plan on staying here again.

One night as part of a Dollywood package.

Staff: Check in was a bit slow - wasn't able to check in upon arrival at midday as rooms weren't ready, which was no problem (it happens), but it was frustrating that the hotel was extremely reluctant to take our bags. Really would rather not have bags/computers/documents in an open car park at a theme park, but that's how it had to be. Also didn't appreciate the snarky vibe when checking in - seemed like a BIG THING not booking separate rooms as a non-married couple. Can't imagine the glare we would have gotten if we hadn't happened to have booked a 2x double bed room. As much as I would have loved to have paid for 2x rooms instead of one, y'know... hmmm...

The girl on night shift was much, much friendlier than anyone else there. She was able to provide some quarters for the washing machine, and actually tried to give assistance with the broken wi-fi.

The room was fine, serviceable, motor inn quality. Once you've been to one, you've been to all. That seemed to be the vibe of every single hotel on Dollywood Lane though. Wi-fi didn't work. Shower pressure was okay.

Didn't appreciate the open bible in the room upon check in. Others may do so hey whatever. Personal preferences etc. Oh well. Dollywood was great.

Overall, merely disappointing rather than anything awful. It was very clean, comfortable enough, and the location was good - just feels like it was "coasting" a bit and that the idea of "Southern friendliness" was maybe pushed a bit more than the reality.

Room Tip: Away from the road.

We stayed 4 nights and it was OK but award worthy I'm not sure. The room was about normal, old and dated. Our alarm radio didn't work and the shower knob was about to fall off. The place needs some updating. Pretty clean though and mostly quiet. What I don't understand is how they offer breakfast for people in 125 rooms and only have 10 tables. Most of the employees were friendly except for the girl when we checked out. No thank you, have a nice day or anything. We think this motel is in a good location though and we would consider staying here again. Prices were pretty good.
