Really didn't know what to expect but knew about poor hotel experiences in Pigeon Forge so decided to take a chance. First impression was good. This RV park is a neat as can be. The cabin was a bit larger than standard hotel room, with two full sized beds, large bath with tub/shower, nice sized mini-fridge, kitchen table, dresser, large kitchen sized sink, heat/A-C combo unit, large HD TV, loveseat, simulated hardwood floor with tile in bath. Front porch had two rockers and a picnic table. A charcoal grille was very close-by. The cabin was very clean. The pool area was clean as was the pool. Pool is 5 ft deep at deep end.Great for our kids! Parked our van right next to porch. Large entry door and bathroom doors. Low noise level. Very close to good dining. Folks were exceptionally nice. Our preschool girls LOVED it and hated to leave. Mattresses were a little worn where the edges had been sat on but slept just fine. Good WiFi.Shady maple lined lanes for afternoon strolls. Dead bolts or security door chain would be nice addition.

Pigeon Forge has about as many campgrounds as miniature golf courses and go kart tracks, and that's a lot. Choosing one can be mind boggling. There are endless reviews and most of the campgrounds are nice. So ending up at Foothills was a pleasant surprise. After driving through the endless redlights and passing endless attractions you reach the parkway going through part of the GSMNP and into Gatlinburg. At this spot, you will find Foothills campground nestled in the hills above another campground. You even have to drive through the other campground to get to Foothills and if the check-in store is your first impression, you will have your doubts. However once you drive up the hill to the campsites and cabins, you will realize that 100 feet takes you from the craziness of Pigeon Forge to a quiet oasis that is site 5 minutes from all of the activities and Gatlinburg. A tram stop is at the entrance that will take you to every sight in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The sites are level, paved with full hookups. Ample room for rigs up to about 36'. Larger rigs may have a problem. The cabins are mostly new and nice. There is a small pool and a large laundry room. The bath house is very very nice, clean and large. For this area, the rates are lower than most. I recommend this campground if you want a quiet location that is still minutes from all of the activities.

Room Tip: All sites are excellent. The newer cabins are in the back of the campground. Ask for the newer one...

I LOVE coming to this campground. You couldn't ask for a better place to take your family. The bathrooms are SUPER clean. The pool is never busy, you can enjoy yourself without having 38823 young children running around at the pool. It's very quiet peaceful, and calm. The people that own it, and work in the office are SO friendly. You would think they've known you your whole life. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the pigeon forge area.

Stayed here 7 nights in June 2013 for a family vacation, after booking early in April and reading everything we could online about the rv parks in Pigeon Forge. Near home we normally stay in state parks for short durations and like the spacious sites and family atmosphere. Foothills RV Park delivers on that same family oriented state park feel. We are not interested in 200 site RV parks. We liked the small size of this park with only 35 rv sites. And it's family owed and operated so you meet the people who care about the place. That means a lot right there.

If you have big rig over 32 feet your out of luck here. They don't have the space for large rv's.

Everything about this park is clean. The pool area was nice and in a good location withing the park. The shower and laundry facilities were spotless, cleanest we've ever seen. All the rv sites and roads are paved, a big plus for us. The grounds are well kept and nicely shaded. Drainage is excellent after rains since the park sits on a hill, but the sites are fairly close to level. Even as close as the park is to the main parkway, it's fairly quiet. About 9:00 every morning, someone was making a round to check out the place.

Couple of area that I had concerns with were:
1. We didn't use them during the summer but the fire rings seem dangerously close to the rv's.
2. The wifi was quite finicky for me. I had to login to the network constantly and my phones would not connect inside my rv most of the time. Laptop had no problems connecting. This was not a show stopper, more of an inconvenience.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again. We checked many rv parks in the area while there, and this would be our first choice again. Kinda don't like sharing the fact that this place is so nice because more people will go here! It's a gem of an rv park in the area.

Stayed here 4 nights. We have a hard-sided pop-up. The concrete pad made leveling so easy. The campground is small with a mix of cabins and trailers. We had 2 grandchildren with us and the pool was clean and fun for them. But I can't say enough about the tiled, well lot bath, showers and laundry facilities. Almost like being at home. I also loved that it had just the basics and not a lot of mini golf and things like that. The Rocky Mountain Nat'l park has so much natural beauty to offer you don't need much more. However, if you do need more, the park is in a quiet knoll in the midst of dozens of amusements and restaurants.
