Initially as we pulled up to the hotel, we thought we were at an abandoned hotel. There were no cars, grass was all grown up, pool was gross, until we pulled up and a man standing inside the lobby smoking approached us and asked if we needed help. We then replied "Is this place even open?" He said yes and we went to check-in. We are very kind, generous people that do not like to gripe about little things. So, upon entering the room, the little things didn't really bother us for example: Smelled like cat urine and dogs, remote control only worked when it wanted to, carpet was gross with little pieces of dog food on it, even though it wasn't a pet room, refrigerater was not cold at all, light bulbs were missing, dead bugs in bathtub, no shampoo or soap in bathroom, hair dryer would just stop in the middle of drying hair and not turn back on even after unplugging and resetting it, the box spring was the last straw. After pulling the covers back and seeing that the boxspring wasn't only broken, it was exposed. We then went to the front desk and they changed it while we were out the next day because it was too late that night. So, a couple days into our vacation, we decide to take our children to the pool. We get to the pool and notice it's not that clean. We figured we'll just let them swim for a bit and get them out. There was duct tape holding all the umbrellas together, black mold coving the ground by the tables, broken concrete all around the pool, the jacuzzi wasn't open (which we weren't aware of), the room that the jacuzzi was in was covered in sheets and the windows were broken, last but not the least my daughter was getting out of the pool and she slipped and fell. The top step of the ladder had no screws in it and would just roll if you tried to step on it. We notified the desk of all the problems and they had said they were gonna have someone look at it. A few days later, we returned to the pool and NOTHING had been done. They didn't even fix the step which is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The manager had told us she would see if she could give us a couple free nights in another Super 8 that was nicer and down the road, but when it came down to it, she was nowhere to be found. We left a message for her to call our cells, needless to say, that never happened. Our family travels and stays in hotels at least 4-5 times a year. We will NEVER stay at this hotel ever again!!! I have told everyone I know that visits Pigeon Forge to stay away from the Super 8.
NONE of the rooms are nice!. They say they've updated...I doubt that!

It is unfortunate that this guest did not enjoy their stay with us while on vacation. I did personally meet with the guest while they were here and offered to upgrade them for free to a suite, to have their room deep cleaned including shampooing the carpet, to plug up an air purifier machine over night to purify the air if they did not want to move rooms, and offered to extend their stay for two free nights or give them a certificate they could take and use for two free nights on a future stay. They declined my offers while they were here. On the morning of their checkout I was not on shift due to a family emergency. I have contacted the guest twice since they checked out and have had no return response. I do not know how the guest can make the statement that none of the rooms are nice considering they refused to look at another room while here. Again it is our goal to satisfy all of our guest and I never want a guest to leave up-happy. That is why I tried to resolve the situation while they were here but unfortunately that did not occur in this situation though I did go out of my way to offer any service to them that I could offer. Our pool area was in need of pressure washing around the patio area which has been done and the pool itself has never had a cleanliness issue. We have hanging in our lobby the last two inspections performed by the Health Department in which we scored 96 out of 100 possible points. I again encourage the guest to contact me as the offers that were made to you while in-house are still available to you. Our goal still remains to meet and exceed all guest expectations.
