“Maybe for a special occasion”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

I'll try to be as fair and objective as I can as far as my review goes. The pictures do not lie in trying to describe how beautiful this hotel is. The lobby and decor are very impressive. The staff was also very impressive. They were very attentive and polite. We had a deluxe king room which was cozy and beautiful. All that being said, here is where I started to drop the points for my rating. The first issue I had was with the parking. The hotel has no free parking (which I see no where in the hotel description is stated). We paid the $28 a day for valet parking (which is nice to have) but which should have been mentioned somewhere in the hotel description. Also, in my opinion, in this day and age, a hotel should provide free WIFI - Union Station does not. The last thing - as stated in the room description, they did provide "high end" bedding - the only problem was - it WAS "high end" 200 washings ago. The sheets were well worn and were not even close to being "crisp". I do agree that these are picky items - but when the bill for 2 nights is $594 - I think you have the right to be somewhat picky. The bottom line - "would I choose Union Station again..??" No, I do not think so...

Great location to Downtown. Amazing service, just a great piece of history. Stain glass ceiling creating an open ambience. For a male, the big cake of soap in the shower made my day. Nothing worse than those little hotel soaps.

From the outside it looks like a European cathedral. A refurbished train station turned 5 star hotel. Imaginative, visionary and very well done. Some rooms have high ceilings, some have huge windows, and the suites are amazing. This is my third visit and every time and more impressed. I'm willing to say its at a "Las Vegas" level type hotel. Obviously, the lights, the weirdness, the gambling, the crazy people and several other things are missing.
The truth is that this property is located 3 Blocks from the downtown night-seen, 2 blocks to Bridgestone arena and a few minutes from Vandy. The price is a little steep, parking is additional (like in many big cities), but if you get a chance, this is a must visit hotel. You will find yourself staring at the fireplace and pondering how in the world someone thought of making this place a beautiful hotel.

We stayed at Nashville's Union Station Hotel over the Thanksgiving holiday. Of course, the rooms are amazing - as at all Autograph hotels - but this location is especially handy. We were able to leave the car at the hotel and walk a few blocks down Broadway to the heart of 'Honky-Tonk Row'. There we found t great food, amazing live music, and funky shops. The hotel service was impeccable and every staff member was warm and friendly. Be aware that the hotel sits near working freight lines, so you will hear train whistles and engine rumbles, but that's all part of the train station ambiance, right?

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor or above. The Lobby is on the third floor and anything lower will be...

My wife and I stayed on a Sunday nIght and went to a Titans game. The staff was extremely friendly. the entire staff was engaged and upbeat. We had a room overlooking the lobby. It had very high ceilings and a comfortable bed. It was also very quiet. We walked back from the game which was fine. The location is not in the center of the city, but you can walk to downtown in 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get an inside room.

We spent several nights at this gorgeous hotel during Thanksgiving. Our family of
12 couldn't have asked for more. Each room was lovely and immaculate. The building itself is worth the visit. It's historical beauty was so special. But what was the best part was the attentive and kind service by all. Special thanks to the concierge Sarah Rochelle who handled all our requests from dinner reservations to last minute Rockette show ticket changes. She is a gem. And to the chefs and wait staff at our Thanksgiving dinner: WOW you are just grand! The delicious dinner and gracious service was much appreciated by all. Be sure not to miss the breakfast scones in the lobby as well! We would love to return and will highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you all.

I loved staying at Union Station. When you walk in, it somehow feels just like a train station and a hotel at the same time. The lobby is gorgeous and the room was large, clean, and comfortable. One detail I liked was that there was an air conditioning vent in the bathroom so it doesn't get hot and stuffy when you shower. I was in Nashville for a couple of very hot and humid days in September (especially difficult for a California girl), so this was a great touch. The location is good, down the street from Honky Tonk Central but in a quiet area.

The only downside is the price, but it's worth it.
