“A Trip Back in Time....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Great location in downtown Nashville. Absolutely charming hotel with a beautiful lobby rich in history. Attentive staff, nice dining in the hotel, music in the lobby in the evening was a nice bonus. We will definitely be back!

I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this one is easily in the top three. If you have the means, I highly recommend it. I got upgraded to a suite, which was absolutely enormous, with two huge rooms and at least twelve-foot ceilings. I particularly appreciated the large windows that let in a ton of natural light. The king bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever experienced, the A/C worked well, and the room was extremely quiet, so I slept fantastically, which is my number one criteria for a positive hotel rating.

In addition, the customer service was "above and beyond" friendly and courteous at all times, room service had great selections, tasty food and arrived at the exact time specified.

The hotel lobby of this onetime train station is beyond belief, and makes an impressive first impression as well as a great location for drinks in the evening.

The location of the hotel is also fantastic, just a few blocks from the main "Lower Broadway" section of Nashville.

I was extremely impressed and would recomment the Union Station without hesitation.

Room Tip: Floor six or seven, west-facing.

Everything was perfect, from the parking valet, to the doorman, to the check-in, to the maid service. The lobby had a fire going at one end with plenty of sofas and sitting areas. After check in to a beautiful room we went down stairs to the lobby where there was cheese and crackers for the guest. The hotel is walking distance to things downtown, but we drove everywhere because it was winter and on the cold side. In the morning there are scones and jam with coffee in the lobby for guest. We stay on the 5 floor with high ceilings and a window that looked in to the lobby. Our friend stay on the other side of the hall that looked out on the city with 20 foot high windows.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view on the upper levels

This was probably my fourth stay at this hotel. Probably the most aesthetically pleasing hotels in my experience anywhere. Fire burning in the fireplace in the lobby with wonderful acoustical guitar player and relaxing on the sofas was most relaxing. We were able to upgrade from our Priceline booking so we had prime balcony room overlooking lobby. Would be. Careful of some basement and lower level rooms. Beds superb, service 5 star. Only recommendation to management would be: glasses in bathroom, upgrade your towels ( they aren't up to the quality people expect for this price hotel) and Internet wifi, really, you charge for room access? At $300 a night that's being just a bit stingy in my book. Overall, still at the top of my list!!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room or a suite. Be specific that you don't want level 1 or 2. Corner rooms ar...

Enjoyed our stay at Union Station so much we intend to make our new anniversary getaway place. Our room was huge and elegantly decorated. The lobby is awesome and takes one back in time. Crackers & cheese await ya. The restaurant is classy and wonderful. It you must get out if this elegant hotel it's within easy walking distance of Honky Tonks & various eating establishments. Check em out; you'll be glad you did.

Stayed here a few years ago when it was a Wyndham, one of the top hotel experiences we've ever had. The occasional train rumbling by below our window only added to the experience. The lobby took us back to the glory days of rail travel. Within walking distance of downtown attractions, so park the car and leave it! Wonderful place, we've cheated ourselves by not staying here in recent trips to Nashville, next time through we will definately be back. This hotel will make your trip whole.

The lobby of the hotel is great, they left a large part of the shell the way it originally was, which makes for some good character. The stain glass roof and windows are pretty cool. The trains do go by, but aren't too bad, we didn't noticed them until the morning for the most part. We were only about a 10 minutes walk from the honky tonk bars on Broadway, that's a nice bonus for the nightlife.

I will say though that while the rooms are quite spacious it would seem the closet was an after thought, but isn't that big of a deal. My only real complaint is that there is zero counter space in the bathroom, it's literally just a toilet and sink. We had to put most things on the floor, which is weird for such a nice hotel.

Otherwise, love the hotel.
