“"historic hotel"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

The staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome. Self parking is very close and reasonable. elevator is small but did not have to wait anytime I needed it. If you are in to old historic hotels that have been kept up, Union Station Autograph is for you. My bathroom was outstanding, dual sinks and a walk-in shower. My hotel room was very large with nice features.

My only complaint was that I found a large spider in my room but this could happen anywhere and since my wife was not with me it was not a big deal.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are better than the lower ones.

This historic hotel was fun for one night, but I would prefer a more modern hotel for an extended stay. The trains did wake me up. The elevator was out of service so we had to be escorted through the kitchen in the morning. The bed was very nice and room large- but rooms vary due to the historic nature of the hotel. We were on the second floor (lobby is on the 3rd floor) so higher rooms might be less noisy.

Room Tip: Go high- low room are close to the train noise. The lobby is on the 3rd floor.

The hotel itself is beautiful. I was amazed at how many pictures I took of the place itself. The staff was friendly and professional. Food was outstanding. Rooms are very comfortable. My only concerns were nail clippings on the carpet, and hair in the bathroom from someone prior to me. They offered to send someone immediately.

Thank you for your recent stay with us at the Union Station Hotel and for your comments on tripadvisor. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay but was disappointed to read the issues related to you room. The fact that we quickly resolved the shortfalls was good to hear but we still fell short of proving a perfect stay. These types of issues are not indicative of our high standards and I will certainly look into.

We appreciate your kind comments and look forward to your return in the future. If you have any questions or can be of further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me or the hotel at 615-726-1001.

Sincerely,

Will Freeman

We loved staying in Historic Places. This is one of the great. Lobby is a must visit even if you don't stay at the hotel. Walk to downtown and country music hall of fame. We were visiting Vanderbilt and you do have to drive but well worth it.

This former rail station turned boutique hotel was decorated nicely with the staff being very friendly. I used hotel points which could explain why I was cast off to the lower level with no view (1stfloor). However she at least said that she would put us away from the working rail tracks -- highly recommend you request this as the rail cars can be loud late at night
The bar wine menu is quite limited but their wine list looked exceptional. I'm thinking it caters towards the bottle service.
Dinner at the restaurant was lovely with great service. Sharing an app and a single meal was quite enou food for two people. Make sure to order the brochettes (bruschetta on a skewer )

The bed was like floating on cotton wool. Perfect location five minutes walk from all the music bars. Charming staff, excellent room, quirky but opulent settiingin a converted station. Trains a little noisy but not many of them and they were slow moving cargo trains. Floorboards a little creaky above us. Would recommend.

We stayed here 10/13-10/17/12. The staff is very eager to please. Our room was on the 1st floor (sublevel) which is probably not desirable to some but it was a nice room anyway..no high ceilings like on floors 3-7. The beds were very comfortable...no complaints. We ate breakfast in the restaurant while waiting to check in. Very busy, had to wait, but the food was great. We paid for the valet parking, but really didn't need the car much at all. The location is great if you are eager to walk everywhere. Keep in mind that this hotel is at the top of a hill...so getting back from "honkey tonks" is all UPHILL! I would def stay at this hotel again..very charming. AND def coming back to Nashville! Don't miss Wildhorse Saloon..especially if you have a large group!

Room Tip: The rooms on floors 1-2 are sublevel (below the lobby) They don't have a view, but we found our...
