“Very quaint with lots of charm and a fantastic room - spacious, quiet and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

Stayed here two nights on business. Excellent, convenient downtown location. Very nice meeting space if you get the third floor conference rooms (1st floor conference room was quite noisy). Lovely old train station with lots of charm and beautifully restored. Room was fantastic - quiet, spacious, and comfortable. Service was also excellent as the workers were friendly and very helpful. Would return without hesitation.

Room Tip: Booking pointer - avoid the train tracks side of the hotel unless you are used to sleeping through n...

I see why it isn't ranked higher on list of Nashville hotels. Pricey and while the lobby is breath taking, our room was just so-so. We were on 8th floor, so that was nice, and trains came through but that was expected and somewhat quaint considering it is the Union Station. Wish there were more historical artifacts around. A few blocks uphill from the honky tonk area, so it is walkable. My suggestion is that the lobby should be on list of things to see in Nashville, but maybe find a less pricey, higher on the list hotel. Parking was odd. $26 for valet parking, but he car was right in the lot there, so it seemed foolish to have some go get it a few feet away, but it was unclear about the $15 option of the lot on the side of the hotel, convenient but not sure you could go in and out for the one day fee. We felt the valet parking a gimmick, altough the attendants were the friendliest employees.

$400 per night for the room, trains and traffic all night long kept me up. There is a train track right nearby and if you're a light sleeper, you'll hear the whistle several times at night. I think the building material doesn't keep the noise out very well. The place looks nice in the lobby area but our room was very average, or maybe below average. The one wall slanted in to match the roof pitch. The phone didn't work, and our room service was served without utensils. We left after the first day and moved down the street to a nicer hotel, closer to the action, half the cost and no trains. We were there 4-27-12.

I paid around $500 to stay in a deluxe room in this hotel for a night. They put us in the handicapped accessible room which was much smaller than the rooms featured online. Also, IT HAD NO BATHROOM DOOR! This is a room with two double beds. We were three girls staying together and it was that time of the month for two of us. When I asked the front desk they said they had a regular room on the main floor (with no high ceilings and no views of the grand lobby that we paid extra for) but they didn't offer any refund. This room was around $150 cheaper. We decided to stay in the deluxe room we paid for and all they said was sorry and hung up.

Loved this hotel. Little pricey but well worth it. The lobby is breathtaking. Our room was roomy and cozey. Only a short 5 minute walk to all the honky tonks! Will definitely be back. Stayed two nights; the staff could not have been more accomodating! Thank you Union Station Hotel for a great Easter weekend stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor so you don't hear the trains.

My wife and I stayed here one night for country music concert 4-10-12.When you first walk into lobby it is like WOW!! Very nice with tall ceiling and lots of things to be amazed with.Staff was very nice and courteous.Room was on 1st floor and lobby is on 3rd which took a little bit getting used to since you walk in to lobby from street level. Each room has a locking safe which is handy, only ours wouldn't unlock. Called front desk and someone came right away, checked it out and had to swap it for another one, which happened very quickly. Room was very quiet as air fan was always on.I didn't even know trains were coming by until next morning when we went outside.Room and bathroom was very clean. Bed was nice and comfy.Only dislikes were view out window was terrible, like looking out under a bridge with nothing there, which pretty much is what it is.Shower door(no tub) was a little confusing to use as glass door opened in middle and was close to commode making it hard to reach controls from outside shower. You couldn't get inside first because water was cold and literally took 2-3 min. to warm up.My dislikes are somewhat trivial, but this is the most we have ever paid for 1 night lodging ( over $300 including taxes for king bed plus parking fee),but it was a great one time event for us.

Room Tip: I think a room at higher level would give better views, maybe a bigger bath but might have more noise...

My wife and I stayed at the Union Station Hotel for our 30th anniversary. You will not find a nicer place to stay in Nashville. The staff is very pleasant and the rooms are first rate. The new manager Mr. Freeman was very gracious honoring the terms of an agreement with the previous manager. This is for sure a 5 star hotel. The staff emailed me the day before our arrival and reminded us of our reservation.
