We stayed at this particular location coming back from Christmas vacation at the tail end of 2011.
I noticed a lot of minor imperfections, but they got all the important things right. First, the little things:
The carpet in the hallway was kind of ugly and looked like it needed vacuuming - had crumbs or some other detritus in places. The hallway itself was narrow with doors all the way down. It kind of reminded me of a cruise ship hallway.
Bathroom was very small, like many hotels, and the toilet flush lever was falling out of the front, like the nut in the tank needed to be tightened. Still worked fine, though.
The climate control unit was by the window and was controlled by a local panel. It had the imprecise older-style thermostat with LOW HEAT, HIGH HEAT, LOW COOL, HIGH COOL, and the generic "FAN" setting - as well as a temperature knob that you could set to red (hot), blue (cold) or anywhere in between. As such, the temperature was a bit finicky, but it was manageable.
The ice maker didn't work on floor 2 where we were, so I had to run up to the 3rd floor to get ice. I did notice an employee working on the machine later, though.
None of those things were deal-breakers for me - if you expect perfection you really shouldn't be staying at hotels in the price range of a Super 8. I went in with fairly low expectations, and a few things surprised me.
We happened to be driving, but the location is right near the airport for anyone flying in. Since we prepaid, check-in took all of 30 seconds.
The beds were VERY comfortable - more so than the resort i had stayed in the week prior! I didn't hear any airplane noise or lateral neighbor noise, but I could hear someone thumping around upstairs directly above me. At times it sounded like a wrestling match (and no, that is not a euphemism for "something else.") The noise stopped before we went to bed, and started again at about 7am - so my guess is that there was another family with kids jumping around.
Breakfast was OK. Cereal (Raisin Bran / Frosted Flakes) and/or waffles seemed to be the best bet. The other stuff wasn't the best.
Checkout was as painless and quick as check-in.
I got an excellent night's sleep here, and would definitely recommend it as a quick stay spot.
