“Good downtown location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

Pros - free parking, sunny pool, Queen beds, walking distance to The Gulch area, close to Vanderbilt and Belmont University, superior breakfast choices, pet friendly, mini-fridge & microwave included, cold A/C, thicker towels, 4 pillows on each bed, outdoor seating where we played cards as a family until it got dark :)

Cons - smallish room, low, stiff beds, wall near trash can had something dried that had spilled then dripped?, older TV, HD channels on the TV did not work so we couldn't watch the soccer game on ESPN or my favorite HGTV shows. I told the desk when we checked out (room 135) since we had already switched rooms once. Not a lot of green area to walk the dog, but hey it's downtown.

Staff - allowed us to check-in early and swiftly switched our non-smoking room to another when we complained that the first room smelled of smoke (people in Nashville love their cigarettes). Second room smelled only mildly of smoke. Here's a tip - Vinegar & ammonia work wonders for clearing the smell of smoke, and replace the A/C filter. Himali, the young woman responsible for the extensive breakfast room, works fast and efficiently to keep all the food available. We saw no fewer than 20 people in the breakfast room at any given time, but it was always fully stocked. Wow, she's a keeper! They had everything - egg & sausage patties, biscuits & gravy, fruit, yogurt, fresh waffles, sugar-free syrup, several cereals, danish, muffins, bagels, toast, several juices, flavored coffee creamer, oatmeal, etc. Really impressive in a big bright sunny room to start the morning off right.

Room Tip: Ask for a room by the pool for a good view, unless you want to park right outside your door.

Have stayed at this Comfort Inn several times over the last two years. Very convenient to Vanderbilt Medical Center and downtown Nashville. Older hotel, but comfortable and clean. They have recently undergone some extensive remodeling of the lobby and breakfast area. Both are very nice now. The people who work the front desk are always so helpful and friendly. There are two or three good little restaurants across the street for an evening meal or drinks. I stay here every time that I am in Nashville, unless there is something big going on downtown. Rates skyrocket if there is an awards show or Titans home game downtown.

We made reservations while on the road, they were very friendly and helpful. We wanted to be near "Broadway Street" so we could walk to all the entertainment, which it is, approx. 1 mile. The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast was good and the pool area very nice. The staff is helpful and very friendly. It was a great stay and would recommend to anyone traveling to Nashville and wanted to stay close to the action, and if we return will be definitely staying here.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for writing. Your feedback is important to us as guest satisfaction is our highest priority. I apologize for the areas where we fell short of meeting your expectations. In particular regarding parking, I have contacted our parking enforcement division. I am meeting with them to discuss your comments and to find a solution to have a parking problem which you encountered. We understand that many of our guests have to park while they're staying with us and a dedicated parking spot is a necessity not a luxury.
Also I have discussed you’re issues with maintenance in all of our rooms.

I hope you will consider staying with us again in the future so that we may have the opportunity to provide a more positive stay.

Best regards,

Mack Kharat

We had a friend come to hang out, and within 5 minutes of him arriving, we advised him that he couldn't park in the parking lot due to the most STRICT parking rules ever. He went to move his car, and it was booted. Cost $50 to get the boots off. No exceptions. Room was small and dirty.

Dear Guest,
Allow me to personally apologize for your incident regarding sharing a parking spot for one you’re friend as well as cleaning issues in your room.
I can assure you that the room was thoroughly cleaned and inspected before you checked in, but definitely I will follow up with housekeeping department, to have more precaution while cleaning as well as inspecting the room.
We recommend all our guests to have extra parking passes received, if they have any friends and visitors arriving to meet the hotel patrons. But due to stringent parking enforcement only, we will be able to save parking spots for our patrons, which otherwise would have taken away from outsiders.

I will convey your experience with the parking enforcement, so he is aware of the issue with the parking.
We hope you come back to visit and allow us to give you the royal treatment you deserve.

Best regards,

Mack Kharat

This place was AWESOME!! Best value you will find downtown. My friend and I walked downtown several times (it is only about a mile) and if you aren't into that the cab ride for the two of us was about $6. The hotel has FREE parking, a wonderful free breakfast and we really really enjoyed their pool. The staff is very friendly and took care of anything we needed throughout the week. I highly suggest this hotel!!
