The hotel has a very nice location downtown. It's across the street from the capital, and short walk to bicentennial park, germantown, broadway, etc. Also, the lounge area was a comfy place to relax and have a drink after a long day of sightseeing. However, this is an old hotel, and greatly in need of renovations. The rooms were clean, but still felt dirty because of the dated, and worn out appointments. We expected a little more from a Sheraton of this size in a destination city. Service was a mixed bag, everyone was friendly, but the hotel felt understaffed. We had some issues with our room, but the manager appropriately accommodated us. The hotel is not a terrible place to stay, but for the standard rate, there are better options in Nashville.

Stayed for business. Rooms are over priced. On-site bar and eating establishment over priced. In room WIFI over priced. On-site parking over priced. Look elsewhere for a better overall value in downtown Nashville.

This is an older hotel that needs a lot of updating. Staff needs training. I was on the SPG preferred floor, but the hallway lamp shades were broken or shattered.The rooms were big and beds comfortable but I found a lot of black mold on my tub. I had to call the front desk and they took care of it. Still there was a lot of rust around the toilet bowl floor, the faucet came out of the tub wall, water was VERY weak from shower and sink faucet. Plus the bathroom was not wiped down very well from the last customer (I wiped it up myself.)
Sunday the house keeper knocked on my door at 8:30 AM! I left at 9:00 AM but my room was not made up when I returned at 6:00 PM! I called the front desk and they took care of it.
Food staff also needs training. On weekends, the Coffee person works as a bartender until 2 or 3 in the afternoon and, while friendly, had no idea about wines or liqueur or how to make drinks. I waited 2 hours in the lounge to order lunch and never got waited on. On another visit, the lounge waiter did not know what wines or what brands of scotch were served in the bar even though the lounge has big signs touting their 90+ rated wines.
For the cost of this room, I would look for a cleaner hotel downtown with better trained staff.

We were going to Nashville for Thanksgiving and saw that the Sheraton Downtown took pets with NO FEE. We booked a room and our experience was wonderful. The staff is outstanding, starting with the valet parkers. Everyone was pleasant and helpful without being phoney. You felt really welcomed. Our room was very nice, with a sitting area that included a very comfortable sofa. The bar is a great place to meet friends or just go and have a relaxing drink and have fun. I have never had such great bar help, that told stories and really interacted with us. They also have some wonderful drinks.

The dining room was typical of Nashville, not really gourmet but good and the wait staff was very helpful. For instance two of us ordered the creole pasta dish, which I enjoyed but the other person could not tolerate, because it was too spicy hot. No problem they took it back and brought something else.

Breakfast was very good and they had a wide selection of foods. In fact they had oatmeal that was wonderful as well as many breads, lox, bagels and etc. If you go be sure to try the hash brown dish. It is a bit different and very good. Again the wait staff was very attentive without hovering.

It is a good location and a very pleasant space.

We will definitely return. As we checked out the desk clerk asked if we had gotten a dog bed for our dog. We said no. She said we should next time, as there is no charge and it saves hauling one from home. Anyone traveling with a pet, this is the place for you. Anyone looking for a pleasant stay, this is the place for you.
