“pretty nice for downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2009

I attended a conference in the attached convention center. Stayed at this hotel because of the convention rates. Nice hotel and location. Hotel is branded a Mariott which I liked because I get the rewards points. Parking garage across the street connected by sky bridge. Typical nice convention hotel catering to business people. There are a few places you can walk to from this hotel but we found that driving was a better option most of the time. Charge for internet as is common with high end hotels.

This hotel is actually a Marriott which to me, is a good thing. I suspect if may have been a fairly recent acquisition but not sure. The location is perfect for business or a night on the town. The hotel is attached to the convention center and a very short walk to the honky-tonk bars.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Because I was a Marriott Reward member they upgraded me to a corner room that was very sizable (especially the bathroom) and had a great view.

Had lunch in the hotel restaurant and it was miserable. Clearly they had some staffing issues and we were told it was a new menu. But that aside, the food was average at best. Starbucks in the lobby was convenient and the "Bridge Bar" was a pretty cool spot for an after work libation.

The gym facility was well run with an attendant wiping down the machinces and handing out towels, etc. However, for a hotel this size (huge), the facility was VERY small and many people, myself included, had to wait for machines.

Other quick thoughts - the car-port/drop off area in front of the hotel is incredibly awkward as our cab drive had to let us off in the middle of a busy street. The hotel front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The elevators during peak periods were a nightmare with waits up to 10 minutes.

Overall a totally fine stay.

Me and my husband came here to stay for New Year's. It was past our expectations! Fancy! Classy! High Class! You get to it very, very easily right off the interstate. It has bell boys waiting outside to park you and see you in. The front desk is very huge and high tech big flat screens and gold escalators, a starbucks, and a glassed-in night club/bar right inside the hotel. It's elevators are also see-thru glass so while you go up the 25th floor, or whatever room you are on... you can take some spectacular pictures of the city!! The hallways to the room are very clean and fancy but modernly updated and newer looking. The room was flat screen tv, BIG FLUFFY white beds and large showers. EVERYTHING here is at the upmost cleanest it can be!!!! It was very sound-proof rooms because in the hall we could hear people being New Years Eve and all, but inside our room we heard nothing. Its located Right downtown, but VERY SAFE location! Parking was NOTHING!. We slept on the 14th floor overlooking downtown nightlife. We kept our window curtains open since we were up so, so high, all the lights off and had a beautiful nitelight of outside moon, stars and tall buildings. Downtown was super-fun. We ate at hard-rock and Rippy's. Both were great atmosphere, clean, and reasonably priced. Our favorite place was Legends. (only 1 block away, best band in the city if you like a mix of rock, country, oldies, and some new stuff). Anyways, We had ourselves a blast!! We will return our next visit to Nashville!

  • Liked — I loved how clean, nice, romantic and fancy everything was!!! Location downtown was a plus!!
  • Disliked — the Price is steep, but you get what you pay for!! The atmosphere is definatly the finer quality people

Stayed here for 8 days for a convention next door. The parking is way too high at $25.00 a day. Park it your self and walk across the street for $4.00 a day, same parking lot.

Had a corner room which was very nice. The food is way too expensive, always ate off site except for one or two times. Was part of staff for the convention and must say wasn't impressed with the hotels audio visual dept.. or with the staff at the attached convention center.

Frankly we are looking around Nashville for a better hotel close to the convention center. The location is good for this property, right in the middle of it all.

The concierge wasn't helpful when I tried to get the shuttle to the airport, missed it twice!

Just okay.

My wife and I stayed three nights at this hotel while on business at an event in the hotel and adjoining conference center. The hotel is quite nice, very conveniently located, and the price beats Opryland (although you should stay at Opryland once if you have never done so!). I found the staff to be quite friendly.

I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the rather horrible hotel bar, I think it's entitled Bridges. It's located in the above-ground bridge connecting the parking lot to the hotel. I believe it was newly renovated at the time and it offers a beautiful view of the city. However, they simply didn't have their act together. The service was horrendously slow (and it wasn't busy), half of the menu and beverages were not available (with no explanation of why), and the food was terrible. You're better off stepping out the door to one of the establishments on Broadway or other nearby streets. There are some excellent choices within a very short walk, although it's nice to have a late night drink at the hotel sometimes.

One very nice value: the overnight parking price (if you self park) is remarkably low for a city.

Nonetheless, the hotel itself is excellent and worth your while. Hopefully, they'll figure out the bar/restaurant service element and elevate themselves to five stars.

Stayed three nights for a conference in November. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. My corner king room was immaculate, desk and concierge staff were very friendly, and the location is convenient for hearing live music or grabbing a bite to eat. The restaurant on the first floor is a great choice for breakfast. If you have a hearty appetite, I recommend the breakfast buffet. There is also a Panera Bread a block away from the hotel.

I would definitely stay here again, even if I was visiting for pleasure instead of business. Nashville is quite spread out, so while I dreaded renting a car to get out and see the neighborhoods, I was glad I did. There are some amazing restaurants a short drive away!
