“Older Model with a New Dress”

This location is an older version of a hotel with exterior doors for entry. Recently they did a very nice job of fresh paint, decor and room upgrades. The room was clean, mostly quiet, and fit the need for a good nights sleep. The morning breakfast was normal bill of fare with waffles, cereal, rolls, yogurt, juice, coffee. It has easy access to downtown or even the airport (about 15 minutes). The outdoor pool was being used by several on the day I stayed. This hotel does not have an elevator, so if stairs or carrying luggage is a challenge, I would recommend a first floor room.

Room Tip: For quiet, request a room on the interior (away from the highway).

This was not the worst hotel but it came close. No clean towels available for 3 days of stay. No maid service during 3 day stay. Room smelled of strong cigarette smoke. Second room for sons was on complete opposite side of hotel when reservations specifically requested side by side rooms.

End of July 2014. We were in room 109, so I don't know about the other rooms. The odor hit us the moment we opened the door, like a years-old sour, stale smoke odor. We checked to make sure we were given a non-smoking room. Front desk said yes. They were sorry about the smell but didn't offer to help remedy. We purchased Febreeze and a reed oil diffuser but nothing helped. Our clothes and luggage reeked of that horrible smell when we unpacked at home. We'll try one more stay at this hotel because it's convenient & economical for when we visit family, & we like the Returns program. But if we encounter that horrible odor again, we will check out immediately and never return.

Stayed here for a quick stopover. Straightforward hotel that offers typical La Quinta benefits. Light breakfast, pet friendly for free and a good room for the buck. This one was renovated in June 2014 and still has the freshness you would expect. A quick 10 minute drive to downtown activities. Good fun. Never heard the nearby train depot.

First off, I LOVE that La Quinta allows pets and does not charge for them to stay in the rooms! That was a plus in choosing this hotel. People may be put off because of the train yard across the street and the highway behind them. Honestly, for us, it wasn't a big deal. The rooms are still fairly quiet (heard a few trains all night but nothing that kept me up) and since they have been remodeled they look really nice. The staff was kind and courteous upon check in and check out. I only wish we had time to stay for breakfast...it smelled amazing in the lobby! But there is a Waffle House on one side of the hotel and a Cracker Barrel on the other (which also had great food and service by the way!). I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was the cheapest La Quinta in the city when we stayed there, and I think (with our 2 dogs) it was definitely worth the price.

Was a little unsure of the location initially but it is very convenient to downtown (10 mins.), Opryland area, and our other destinations west and south of the city. Staff was very professional and courteous, especially Patricia and the manager on duty Fri. night July 25 (sorry didn't get his name). They really make you feel like they value your business. Great pool area, rooms are good, and of course it is important to us La Quinta's are pet friendly. Good value for the price.

We have stayed at this hotel before, but this stay has left us with a decision to never return. This is an old property that has reportedly been recently remodeled. It appears that they have painted and changed the decor. However the property presents safety hazards to guests who are assigned rooms on a portion of the second floor. It appears that there are no signs on where to exit in case of fire. I found only one way from our section of the second floor, going outside our room and then back into the main building and down the stairs to exit. This is a fire hazard, you would never re-enter a burning building to get out. Also Ice machines did not work, there is inadequate vending machines on the property, the telephone in our room did not work and we had to park in an adjacent businesses parking lot as there was no parking on the property. When I complained to the front desk she said the ice machines work, but if they were drained, that is not their problem. She said the hotel had just been remodeled and they passed inspection. I wonder if the fire marshal inspected their fire safety and escape plan. The staff is not customer friendly and I would NEVER recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
