“Renovations coming Nov. 2014”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stayed there 4 nights in August 2014 and will be there 3-4 nights a month til August 2015- babysitting my daughter's infant while she's in "block" at Vanderbilt for her masters. Right now hotel is a bit "tired" but major renovations are starting November 2014!! Staff has been very nice and helpful. Has free wifi which is appreciated. Free parking. Well located for Vanderbilt.

Hotel is about 2 miles from the honky tonks on Broadway. A bit far to walk but the hotel offers a free shuttle from morning till 10pm (3 mile radius). Taxi, Lyft and Uber services are all around town when necessary (we used Lyft several times after midnight to get from Broadway/Downtown to the hotel for $5-$6). Hotel parking is convenient and free, and it's very easy to drive around the area. Room was clean, staff was helpful and friendly, wi-fi was free and reliable, outdoor pool was nice, the surrounding area (especially the campuses of Vanderbilt and Belmont) is nice with plenty of restaurants to go to as well as a grocery store and a liquor store and, best of all, the king size bed in our room was extremely comfortable. In case you don't want to go out to be entertained, the hotel lounge offers free live music nightly. As long as you don't mind the methods of transportation to get back & forth between Downtown and the hotel, this is a great place to stay. The Holiday Inn is no luxury hotel chain full of special amenities & services, but this property does it's job very, very well as a reliable, comfortable and reasonably priced hotel. I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor overlooking the back of the hotel property, including the pool. The room w...

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Nashville-Vanderbilt over Labor day weekend. Having never been to Nashville before, I was nervous that this hotel would be "too far" from the downtown/bar district. The hotel was nice: clean beds, nice shower, no unpleasant smell, etc. There is a small bar downstairs that had some live music and drinks. The best part of the hotel was the shuttle service. It was free and ran us pretty much wherever we needed! The farthest they travel is to the Ryman Auditorium, so there was a two block walk to 2nd street, which was no problem for us at all. We could also call the driver of the shuttle and he would pick us up, usually within 15 minutes. The only negative about the shuttle service is that it stops running at 11PM. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is budget friendly with a functional, clean pool. A nice breakfast buffet, restaurant, evening entertainment, and cafe. Overall the room I was in could have used a renovation but for the price and for the area it was a good purchase.

Room Tip: Dont stay on the 4th floor over the HVAC.

Check in was friendly and informative, the room was clean and comfortable with a view of the Parthenon and Centennial Park. Free wifi, free parking. The entertainment in the lounge area in the evenings was top-notch (what do you expect in Music City!) with several acts, all great, taking the stage. No cover. I was there to help my son move into Belmont University, and the location was perfect. We didn't take advantage of the free shuttle, just because our mission was to shop for dorm furnishings and move in, rather than visit the downtown, but on our next visit we will definitely tour the downtown. Inclusive of this hotel, I have to say that Nashville is the friendliest city I've ever been to, great attitudes all around.

Room Tip: You have a choice of Centennial park, or the Vanderbilt Stadium. I preferred the park view.

Met Cleo at the front desk to check in and she worked hard to make sure the two rooms I had reserved were next to each other. She did so with a smile and good humor that foretold of what would be a wonderful stay while in Nashville to witness our niece's graduation from Belmont University. Everyone, from the reception staff to the room service crews were very polite and friendly. Of special note was that the room service staff actually read the request for additional coffee supplies and made sure our room was to our liking. We felt as if we were at home. We really liked the facility, not having been to Nashville previously. While close to downtown, about 4 miles away, we found it near enough to restaurants, attractions, and most importantly relatives. Only negative would be parking availability and that would depend on whether a football game is scheduled either at Vanderbilt or at Titan Stadium. Otherwise, we'd be back.

Room Tip: 14th floor on the west side has nice views of rolling hills and centennial park

It's a Holiday Inn. It's never going to be anything except middle of the road. Nothing massively wrong: some dated decor and uninspiring feel. Not that much great, either: clean, comfortable enough.

Main reason to stay here is Vanderbilt stadium/university. Otherwise it is overflow when downtown is full (why we were there). Intermittently there's a free shuttle service.

Good pool, though.

I will share your comments with our management team. Thank you.
