“Enjoyable Accommodations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

Met Cleo at the front desk to check in and she worked hard to make sure the two rooms I had reserved were next to each other. She did so with a smile and good humor that foretold of what would be a wonderful stay while in Nashville to witness our niece's graduation from Belmont University. Everyone, from the reception staff to the room service crews were very polite and friendly. Of special note was that the room service staff actually read the request for additional coffee supplies and made sure our room was to our liking. We felt as if we were at home. We really liked the facility, not having been to Nashville previously. While close to downtown, about 4 miles away, we found it near enough to restaurants, attractions, and most importantly relatives. Only negative would be parking availability and that would depend on whether a football game is scheduled either at Vanderbilt or at Titan Stadium. Otherwise, we'd be back.

Room Tip: 14th floor on the west side has nice views of rolling hills and centennial park

It's a Holiday Inn. It's never going to be anything except middle of the road. Nothing massively wrong: some dated decor and uninspiring feel. Not that much great, either: clean, comfortable enough.

Main reason to stay here is Vanderbilt stadium/university. Otherwise it is overflow when downtown is full (why we were there). Intermittently there's a free shuttle service.

Good pool, though.

We have stayed at all the Hotels that Downtown/West end have to offer, and this hotel is just ok. Check in was friendly and nice, room was ok, kind of small, bathroom vanity very small. The shuttle was not there when promised, had to wait an extra 20 minutes. This hotel is just average, for the same price would stay at Embassy suites Vanderbilt instead.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor

Stayed one night at this hotel and really enjoyed it. I'm not one to give a perfect 10, but it was very close to that! Polite and helpful staff - front desk, housekeeping, etc.; clean and nice room, fun pool, free parking - we also really enjoyed the neighborhood - visited Centennial Park, two local brewpubs and Vanderbilt University. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Get the exec level floor if possible.

When we arrived, after a long drive, Ashley was very kind to upgrade us to The Executive Level, which includes 3 free buffet breakfast coupons. The room was good sized and clean. The swans on the bed and in the bathroom are a nice touch. The next morning, we had a very nice server from Peurto Rico, sorry I forgot your name, who offered us additional items from the kitchen if the buffet was not adequate to our taste, which was excellent. We then inquired about the shuttle, this is where it get's tough. The front desk says the shuttle will drop you anywhere within a 3 mile radius. We wanted to see the Capital, the driver said he would only drop us off and pick us up at The Rhyman, which the requires an uphill walk...not what we were told. That evening, out toilet ceased to function around 10:00pm, these things happen. They sent up a very nice maintenance man, again sorry I forgot your name, who attempted to repair it, but was only able to make it functional, imagine reaching into the tank area to manually flush. We spoke to the front desk and they said we could switch rooms, but it was late, so I asks them to inform the manger and I would speak to him in the morning. The next morning, when I went to the front desk, they were not aware of what occurred, so I had to explain it again. The only rooms available were off the floor we were on, but they offered to allow us continued access to the executive lounge. It seemed like a lot of trouble, so we decided to tough it out one more night with a slightly functioning toilet. At this point we left to go visit the sights around Nashville, it was 8:30am. On the way out we noticed someone napping in the executive lounge, this will matter in a moment. When we arrived back at 2:30pm, six hours later, our room had not been cleaned and there was no message from the manager. We called housekeeping, but no one answered, so we called the front desk and they said to call housekeeping. When we explained we already did, they said they would check and call back, which they did not do. We then received a call from the maintenance man, who said he could have the toilet fixed, which sounded great. Since we were tired and our room was going to be unavailable, we decided to go sit in the executive lounge, where the person was still sleeping on the sofa, six hours later! On our way back to the room, we noticed several parties arriving on our floor with copious amounts of alcohol. This is when I left manager a message to explain our extreme frustration and concerns. We left the hotel and took a drive just to get away for a while. When we returned, the room was in order and the evening went smoothly. I can see they are really trying, but just slightly missing the mark here. By the way, still waiting to speak to the manager.......

The hotel is very close to Vanderbilt and the activities nearby. It was a very busy place during my overnight stay on a Sunday to Monday. The hotel appears a little dated but the room is generally clean. The carpet had obvious stains. Positives include free parking (ends some time next year), microwave and mini-fridge. Front desk staff was pleasant.

This was a really nice hotel, the rooms were all clean,no nasty odors, the grounds were really clean and nice also. There is pool outside that was always kept up.The staff was always friendly. There are bars and food across the street,so no need to drive or get a cab to go somewhere.a great choice of food if you like mexican,is a place not to far away called Chueys and it's excellent! I need to rate this place also. You can walk to downtown if you like, but we ,as in 7 people, took a cab and it was around 10-12 dollars each way, less if it's just 2 people. The prices are better than a lot of hotels and you won't go wrong. Also they have a full breakfast with sausage etc. included. When we go that way again,we won't shop around again for a good hotel,we will book reservations here.

Room Tip: we had a room over looking the pool
