I sent the weekend here while visiting my son in Nashville. It was also the week of CMA Fan Fest, so the hotel was full and the town was crazy (in a good way).
This hotel has been recently updated and y room and bathroom were fresh and very attractive, one of the best HI's I have seen. My room was on the 7th floor in the back and overlooked the Vandy football stadium. There was a desk with a convenient spare outlet in the base of the lamp, but I wished there had been more than one spare outlet. The bath had a number of products that looked nice (I am allergic to all the stuff) and had a large step in shower which I really appreciate as opposed to climbing into a slippery bathtub to shower.
My only issue with the room was the mattress, it was awful, sagging like a hammock. I was really hurting the whole weekend and several days after from this. why I am not giving this HI five stars.
The lobby area was large and attractive, lots of table and chairs, and has a Bongo Java coffee bar. This was great because Bongo Java is great local coffee, so I enjoyed a coffee ad bagel on Saturday morning. However, Sunday morning, it was closed. This was with a hotel full of people - no place to get coffee or breakfast. Why????
The staff at the desk and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. There is a small shop off the lobby that has water, sodas, snacks and small toiletries which was very convenient. The pool was decent size, it was quite full of people. The parking lot was very full and a bit tough to get a space but again, the town was busy. Parking is free here (it is not at hotels closer to downtown)
This is a good location, very close to downtown The hotel has a shuttle bus that goes to various attractions around the city and it was being well used. At times the lobby was just quaking with people but staff were smiling and everyone seemed happy.
This is a really good HI with the exception of the mattress.
