“Clean, friendly, close to downtown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

Took a quick trip to Nashville. Was a little leary of the location being too far from downtown. It was closer than I thought. They had a courtesy shuttle (which I did not utilize but thought was a nice touch), within a few minutes from downtown driving. Would be quite a walk to downtown but is definately doable. Nice location, clean hotel and friendly staff. Would definately stay again! The balconies were a plus also. Only downfall was no complimentary breakfast.

Enjoyed my stay, had a 12th floor room right next to elevator which really wasn't too bad. I liked the way the room was layed out. Hotel bar was nice as well, great place for a group to get together and have drinks.

Room Tip: I always enjoy a room towards the top of hotel, you really get to see the lights of the city at nite...

I stayed 2 nights, booking my stay through ihg.com. I was pleased to be recognized as a elite member at check in but I was not offered any preference on my floor. I was given a room right next to laundry and I heard the dryers run all night. The attendant carts were up and down the narrow Hallway my entire stay I felt like I was an inconvenience when I tried to walk the halls. Room service was prompt and friendly but inedible due to the amount of salt. In room coffee was stingy and there is complementary coffee in the lobby. The brew, a cafe in the lounge had really awful coffee at $5 a cup. The carpet was stretched and I found myself tripping on it. Overall I was very disappointed and will not return to the Holiday Inn brand in this city.

A friend and I stayed here on December 18th - 19th,2013. We were in Town for the Stellar Awards. They are renovating and you can tell the minute you step out of your car. Wish we knew about the renovation aye we could've moved to one close by.The room was ok. Beds are comfy. It was ok.

We appreciate you taking time to review our hotel but we were disappointed to read your comments. We are not under renovation. so we are not sure how the hotel appeared when you stepped out of your car. We would appreciate it, if you would contact Henry.Sams@ihg.com, so you could discuss your first impressions of our hotel with him. We hope you will stay with us next time you visit Nashville.

Wasn't too impressed with this location. It's remodeled but no attention to detail. You would think that being next to Vanderbilt it would be well kept, not in this case. Housekeeping is doing their part, but building maintenance is lacking. Staff was OK... Not too impressed with desk staff, they are very busy so what can you expect. The bar/ restaurant is over ran with locals who are rude and seem to stare at non regulars....service there is geared towards the regular crowd.

Stayed here because I had an early VA appointment the next morning. After checking in, I dropped my luggage in the room then headed back to the car for a few more things. Back to the room where my key card does not work, so down to the front desk. Key being replaced and the woman that had just checked in, came back because hers didn't work the first time. Fast forward to the next morning. I'm used to the space under the bed being closed off, but not these. I look under the one I slept in and it wasn't bad. The other---not so good. It had two Gatorade bottles, various trash and a brown paper bag with something in it. The pretty towel swan was on top of that bed. On a positive note, all staff that I dealt with was very friendly.

We as a family send three nights here with a group of 20 other family.
Older structure with a new design, but not up to detail.
Positive aspects: great service from employees, very friendly. We spent as a group up until 400 am in the lobby lounge drink with out a problem. Very nice and polite. Rooms update with flat screen, designs and beds. Our room had a refrigerator and a micro. Plenty of parking, very close to Vanderbilt football stadium.

Did not eat in the restaurant, can't give a review of that.

Negative aspect: older facility trying to look new. Everything is in the details. Doors and door frames dented and chipped from wear and tear. Paint job was sloppy, not detailed, pain on door jams and trim. Hall ways look like they are from the 1970, dingy and duel, not much light to them. Out door pool, they say is open year around. Dirty and had leaves in the bottom- not very attractive.
Bathrooms are very small, small enough you have to close the door to move around the bathroom
The pantry in the lobby was ok, not very inviting, but has the items needed.
Weight room was ok, has dumb bells and cardio - it was just enough

Overall, it was ok. I would of liked a truly remodeled hotel with a organization that invested into detail.
