“Great value for your money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

If you don't need anything fancy, this hotel is great. Clean and cheap. It's close enough to downtown that you can walk in 30 minutes, and get a nice view of bicentennial park as you do so. Though you should invest in some earplugs as the hotel's close to the train, and the soundproofing is not all that good. I could hear my neighbour cough... among other things....

Just get earplugs, and it'll be a great value for your money.

Very friendly service. Great comfortable rooms. I very much enjoyed my stay. Very quiet. Perfect for just a night get-a-way or a weekend get-a-way. Wouldn't stay any where else. I slept like a baby. Perfect location to downtown and places to eat.

Have not stayed at this hotel, but have just experienced the worst customer service possible. I rang hotel requesting to be put through to room of guest, with an urgent family message, to be told that due to security reasons it was not hotel policy to do so. I then asked that they relay message to guest, to be told that they have 100 rooms and do not know what room guest is staying in??!! Yes, I can accept that hotels have rules but to not know what room is assigned to what guest seems highly unlikely. Laziness and a don't care attitude by the staff member is what it appears to be.

when you called the hotel the desk clerk transferred your call to the room of the guest you wanted to talk to.The guests were not in the room. The desk clerk asked you to leave a message on their message system on the phone in the room. You became irate and told the desk clerk that he should find the guests wherever they are and that he should give you the room number the guests were staying in.the guest is the only person who can give you the room number For security reasons we are unable to give room number of guest to anybody .we cater to hundreds of guests regularly and have always transferred calls and taken messages appropriately.

Our first impression of the hotel was when the taxi driver dropped us off telling us "y'all better watch self round here it's a tricky neighbourhood" it is classed as downtown but its not in the center , it is walking distance , in the day light , would never walk around here at night very dodgey !! Was often dodgey looking characters walking around the hotel , we was on the ground floor by the car park and could hear these characters outside our room quite loud . It's also conveniently located near a very noisy train line , not sure why trains over here feel the need to constantly sound there horn .
The room itself was fine and clean . All fixtures and fittings although dated worked perfectly . The only problem with the room was the smell , it stunk and now out of that hotel can still smell the room on our clothes . Free breakfast was a nice touch and I did enjoy the waffle making facilities ..... Too much .
The staff were friendly enough although one member of staff behind the reception joined us while waiting for a cab started smoking and constantly spitting on the floor which was disgusting , especially for a member of staff.
The hotel could be improved with more security . Then I could relax while in the room and not worry about possessions while out of the room .
