“decent overall value for the money but not close enough to the main attractions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

This hotel was somewhat of a disappointment for me for a few reasons. The room was laid out poorly (minimal vanity area to get ready in and wasted space in kitchen area that is likely rarely used), there was a never-ending sewer odor in the lobby area, and it was a long walk to the bars/nightlife. We ended up taking a taxi home one night because the hotel is off the beaten path and we didn't feel comfortable walking late night in the dark. The good news is the taxi was only $5 so it was no big deal. The upsides of this hotel are the amazingly friendly staff and excellent service! The staff were always ready to help, they always greeted us as we walked by, and when we needed extra towels they sent someone to our room within 5 minutes. We were also very happy with the price because it was quite a bit cheaper than one of the hotels right near Broadway where most of the action is. It was also nice to have a free hot breakfast! It wasn't awesome food, but it was much better than your typical continental breakfast you get at some hotels since they had hot food. Self-parking was no big deal for us since we never used our car once we arrived. Parking was two blocks away, but they had a drop off for luggage so it was easy enough to use and half the price of using valet parking. I personally would not stay here again only because we would like to be closer to the action, but if location is not an issue than its a good hotel for the lower price you're paying.

The size of the rooms are unbelievable - a sitting area, kitchenette, bedroom, shower area and sink/closet area. Wish we had more time in Nashville to take advantage of everything this room and hotel had to offer. The free cocktail hour/snack is awesome (its advertised as a dinner; we didn't partake in the food portion but it smelled good), and a variety of beers and red and white wine are offered. Breakfast was also included and was pretty standard fare but everything was very good - eggs, biscuits, sausage and a variety of cereals including oatmeal, and juice (orange and cranberry). Valet parking is a little steep ($24) and lots are all around the hotel but the convenience factor was well worth it. No delay in getting the car in the morning even though everyone seemed to leave at the same time. The location is a 3-4 blocks off of Broadway and we felt perfectly safe walking home at midnight.

We had a block of 5 rooms for the SEC basketball tournament. The rooms were clean and spacious and amenities are spot on, including the evening food and beverages and the breakfast. We're coming back next time.

Hands down, the best hotel in downtown Nashville. Very short walk to Bridgestone Arena. Very clean and well decorated, mattress was nice and firm, plenty of goose downed pillows. Having the full kitchen was nice, but we really didn't use it (except to pop the free popcorn). The free breakfast was good (scrambled eggs and biscuits). They have free suppers Mon-Thurs.

Recently stayed at this hotel in the middle of February. Find the lobby was a bit confusing at first but the front desk staff was very friendly and very helpful. Arrived in time for happy hour/dinner which was wings, beans and potato salad which was good. Breakfast has a lot of items to choose from as well. Our room was on the second floor facing the outside and was very nice. The bed was also comfy and made for a peaceful nights rest. I will definatly stay here when I am in Nashville again.

Great hotel with great perks, nice to have breakfast in the lobby and not have to go out and having the dinner and beverages in the evening was a real plus! Comfortable bed and very roomy suite. Friendly staff! We had a heating issue but was resolved right away!! We were very happy with our stay at Homewood Suites.
