“Excellent Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2011

Great property, close to everything downtown. The construction across the street gets you up early, but quits fairly early. I appreciated the bathroom layout, lots of vanity space and storage (important if you're traveling with your spouse). Walk in shower, but with poor water pressure. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, with the exception of delivery of a gift basket in connection with wedding events.
I'd come back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel from the construction.

We just returned from spending 4 nights at this hotel. We had great time. As other reviewers said, the location really can't be beat...walking distance to downtown while away from the noise of the bar scene. Yes, currently there is construction directly across the street, but it didn't bother us. The blasting that earlier people were talking about is completed and now the noise is mainly like a typical construction site...backup beeping, jack hammers. This was not overly noisy - worse was the drunks coming home from the bars at 4AM - also unavoidable.
We did have a leaky a/c unit in our room, but the maintenance guy was up very soon after we reported it...they promptly offered to move us to a different room as the repair was going to take some time.
We enjoy the weekday breakfast, by the weekend (when the hotel was fully booked) the selection of the hot food seemed to be a little weaker.
Cleanliness...not horrible, but not stellar either.
Exercise room had a nice selection of equipment that I haven't seen at many hotels...treadmills, recumbent bike, eleptical, (each of these with personal tvs), exercise balls, weight machine/bench, free weights, kettle bell type ball...very nice.
Front staff helpful, but not overly extroverted.
Yes, parking is very pricey - I think we could have parked for $5/ day directly across the street, but didn't know if we would have in/out priveleges with that so we paid the fee (plus tax) since we saved $50 per night on the room over what we thought we were going to pay. They also rent their extra spots for downtown events to the general public...so be aware if you're out and plan on coming back while an event is going on.
We' definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for a great hotel at a great price, stay at the Hampton Inn in downtown Nashville. During our stay in September, we found the hotel’s proximity to Broadway, The Ryman, The Hall of Fame, etc., was perfect. We visited Nashville with another couple, and our intent was to soak in all of the live music on Broadway for the 3 nights we were there. That being said, we spent little time in the hotel, but I must say that the complimentary breakfast was a really nice attribute. The service of the hotel was spectacular. In fact, the day of our departure we forgot a cell phone in the room. We were contacted by the hotel’s manager letting us know that housekeeping had found our phone that that they were overnight mailing the phone back to us.

My husband and I stayed here for an Anniversary trip and enjoyed the hotel in general. Paying an extra $17 per night for parking at the hotel is a racket but apparently all of the hotels downtown are part of the scheme so whatta ya gonna do? The whirlpool and swimming pool were fabulous and the little snack "shop" option was nice. The location was what was really great for us. We walked everywhere. Went on the Nashville Ghost Tour, walked to Rooster's BBQ b/c we saw it on Food Network, picked up to go Sushi at Ichiban Japanese restaurant, etc. I really think that it is overpriced for what you get (simple room with comfy beds tho weirdly lumpy comforter on it). If we hadn't booked with a discount online hotel site I would never pay $200 a night. But then again...it is right downtown within walking distance of EVERYTHING.
Oh...almost forgot. There is construction across the street and it is sooooo loud I absolutely could not sleep past seven without downloading a white noise app on my iPhone and blaring it next to my ear. I bought ear plugs the next day but that was pretty unacceptable. Maybe the hotel should offer complementary earplugs when you check in. Seriously, I would've appreciated it.

Room Tip: Choose away from construction if possible.

Stayed at the Hampton in early September for one night. I had read many positive reviews before travelling to Nashville so I expected this to be great. And it was!

We were on a fairly extensive trip to the United States - staying at 8 hotels in 15 nights, and I have to say this was the best one!!

Check-in was quick and simple, able to check in right away.

The rooms are HUGE and extremely clean! I was very surprised at the size of the King room - complete with mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom was very large with a walk-in shower and jaccuzi tub. Ceramic tiling in the bathroom and very clean carpet in the room. Our view wasn't great, just of the street, but who really needs a view.

Breakfast was included - standard selection of waffles, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, tea/coffee, etc. I think there were also some hashbrowns and eggs. Very clean dining area and good food to get your day started.

The location of the hotel is superb! Across from the Country Music Hall of Fame and probably 3-4 blocks from the Ryman and Broadway. Very nice area of town, felt safe walking around, even late at night.

Walked to the honky tonks in about 5 minutes and was great hopping around listening to all the country music. Also walked to the Wildhorse Saloon and Hard Rock cafe in 15 minutes.

Many reviewers talked about the construction, but I have to say that didn't bother us at all. Did not hear any noise. Yes, it is a little "eye sore" in the middle of town, but we hardly noticed.

If returning to Nashville, I would definitely stay here again. Great value, clean hotel, great location. Would definitely recommend to other Nashville visitors!!!

spent 2 nights. Hotel is perfect as it is close to all of downtown Nashville. If you go, make sure they do not give you a room facing the mammouth construction going on right across the street on the new Country Music center. The front desk person did not tell us it was located there, nor did she mention breakfast was in the lobby. We got to the room...looked out and it looked like post war Europe reconstruction and SOUNDED like it. I went back down and spoke with another person and asked what time they started in the morning. He leaned over and whispered "6am". I said, no way, i want another room He gave it to me. The original person at the desk was totally disgusted by me coming back and looked the other way. Next day, the front desk group was different and totally upbeat and helpful So, the Inn is great, nice rooms, but beware of your location. We could hear the pounding and banging as soon as we came down into the lobby. I can only imagine what some poor guest must have heard if they faced it.

Room Tip: Stay away from room facing 4th Street.

Stayed here 2 nights while visiting Nashville. Generally a big fan of the Hampton Inns, though this one is more expensive than most ($267/night including taxes and parking). Proximity to the bars and live music on Broadway made convenience worth the price. Room was good and hotel facilities nice.

One weird thing: around 5-6 pm each night, thousands-(seriously not exagerating)-of birds begin flying around the 4 block area that you have to walk to Broadway. We felt like stars in a Hitchcock movie. Park benches, sidewalks and cars parked in the area were COVERED with bird droppings. Local people told us the birds are there every night. We only saw them in those early evening hours, but it was nasty. I would avoid the streets during those hours or stay somewhere else.
